Coach Bruce Arians doesn't anticipate Brady playing in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
After making a cameo in the Buccaneers' exhibition opener this past Saturday versus the Bengals, Brady may not see in-game action again until Week 1, limiting him to just one preseason possession. If the preceding comes to pass, rookie second-rounder Kyle Trask could be in line for plenty of snaps with the rest of the QB room composed of veterans Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin.

Brady will start Saturday's preseason opener against Cincinnati unless rain creates poor field conditions, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The forecast calls for rain in Cincinnati on Friday, but everything should be clear long before the 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday evening. Brady likely will play one or two drives in the first quarter before giving way to fellow QBs Blaine Gabbert, Ryan Griffin and Kyle Trask.

Coach Bruce Arians suggested Brady will play in Saturday's preseason game against Cincinnati, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Arians was asked about Brady specifically and responded that "everyone" would play. There was no preseason in Brady's first year with the team, but Arians did play most of his starters (including Jameis Winston) in the 2019 exhibition opener. Brady doesn't seem to have any limitations after February surgery to address a torn MCL, and it sounds like he'll be out there Saturday, if only for a series or two.

Brady is practicing without a brace or wrap over his surgically repaired knee, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brady played through an MCL tear last season and then had surgery to repair the injury in February. He made it back for June minicamp as a partial participant, and it seems he's now cleared for the start of training camp, preparing to defend his title on a Bucs team that looks much the same as last year's Super Bowl-winning squad. There were some close calls in free agency, but the Bucs ultimately re-signed Leonard Fournette, Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski, along with defensive starters Shaquil Barrett, Lavonte David and Ndamukong Suh. While a lack of rushing stats may keep him below the elite group of quarterbacks for fantasy purposes, Brady is in a good situation for prolific passing numbers, especially TDs.

Brady (knee) played through an MCL tear last season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
EDGE Analysis
Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reported Thursday that Brady initially suffered a partial MCL tear in his final season with the Patriots but played through the injury in 2020 before getting surgery in February. Rapoport now suggests it was a full MCL tear, further adding to Brady's legend. In any case, the veteran quarterback participated in a portion of June minicamp, perhaps setting him up to be ready for the start of minicamp in late July. As was the case last season, Brady will have one of the better supporting casts in the NFL, including a WR trio of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown.

Coach Bruce Arians said Brady (knee) took part in more drills than anticipated in Tuesday's minicamp session, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Arians, Brady was only held out of blitz-pickup drills, an indication the Buccaneers are comfortable with where the veteran quarterback stands in his recovery from the surgery he underwent on his left knee in February. Brady could continue to face some light restrictions when training camp begins in a month and a half, but any limitations likely would just be precautionary.

Coach Bruce Arians said Friday that Brady (knee) will begin throwing next week, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Arians said he told Brady to "just take your time and make sure you're right," a hint the veteran signal-caller could be eased back into action when June's mandatory minicamp kicks off. Previous indications had been that Brady would begin mandatory minicamp as a full participant, but it wouldn't be shocking for him to be limited early. All indications have been that Brady's rehab from offseason knee surgery is proceeding on track, and being cleared to resume throwing is another positive step. He should be back to full form before long.

Brady's offseason knee surgery was far more serious than initially assumed but the veteran quarterback still projects to be available for mandatory minicamp in June, Ben Volin of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brady himself contradicted reports earlier in the offseason the veteran quarterback was simply undergoing a simple "clean-up procedure", but it's unclear how serious in nature the surgery actually was. All the reports post-surgery seem to indicate Brady's rehab is going according to plan, but it still wouldn't be shocking if the Buccaneers ease the 43-year-old back into playing shape.

Brady said Sunday that his recovery from offseason surgery continues to progress well, and he's hoping to be ready by mandatory minicamp in June, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brady's rehab continues to go as planned, and it sounds like his knee should be fully healed well before the start of the season. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Buccaneers take it easy on the veteran quarterback in preseason since he has little to gain from exhibition games at this point in his career, but Brady should be firing on all cylinders by the time the games start to count.

General manager Jason Licht said Thursday that Brady (knee) is progressing "very well" in his recovery from the "minor surgical procedure" he underwent February, Jenna Laine of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Licht declined to offer a specific timetable for the star quarterback's full recovery, but it doesn't look like this offseason's minor knee surgery is causing any concern for Brady as he looks toward his age-44 campaign. Coach Bruce Arians said back in February that he expects Brady to be ready for 7-on-7 drills by June, if the league allows such activities by then. Arians also mentioned that OTAs aren't necessarily crucial for a veteran of Brady's caliber. In any case, there don't appear to be any doubts within the Buccaneers' organization that Brady will be back to 100 percent form in time to kick off the 2021 regular season.
