Rawls is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Even with C.J. Prosise (ankle) unavailable, the Seahawks have opted to make Rawls a healthy scratch. Chris Carson, Eddie Lacy and J.D. McKissic are the team's active running backs, with Carson set for the lead role and McKissic a candidate to replace Prosise on passing downs.

Rawls said he trusts the coaching staff and isn't too concerned about his role, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rawls got just one snap and zero touches in Sunday's 33-27 loss to the Titans, while rookie Chris Carson dominated early-down work. A likely upcoming absence for C.J. Prosise (ankle) does leave more snaps up for grab in the backfield, but Prosise's role largely was limited to obvious passing downs, which aren't a strong suit for either Rawls or Eddie Lacy. The Seahawks could turn to Carson and/or J.D. McKissic, though both figure to represent a major downgrade from Prosise in that role. Rawls still expects the Seahawks will need him at some point this season, even if it doesn't happen Sunday against the Colts.

Rawls did not record a carry and was on the field for just one of Seattle's 33-27 loss to the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
The out-of-nowhere narrative that described Rawls just a few years ago seems to now apply to rookie Chris Carson who has accounted for 63 percent of the touches Seattle's backs have seen this season. C.J. Prosise has accounted for another 22 percent. Pete Carroll has often ridden with one primary back, so don't look Rawls way anytime soon.

Rawls played 16 snaps and carried five times for four yards Sunday against the 49ers in his return from a preseason ankle injury.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Pete Carroll said the team intended to limit Rawls' workload in his first game back. He gave no indication of that prior to the game, however. Rawls didn't have a carry after the first quarter and played two snaps in the second half. Chris Carson ran well in the fourth quarter against a tired 49ers defense. A starter hasn't been named for Week 3, but it would be surprising if Rawls was forgotten so quickly. It would also be surprising if Eddie Lacy was inactive for consecutive games, so that complicates matters too for Rawls. As does a weak offensive line that provided little running room Sunday.

Rawls (ankle) is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rawls is primed to join a backfield in which Eddie Lacy only logged seven Week 1 snaps. C.J. Prosise and Chris Carson figure to be involved, but there's a reasonable chance Rawls steps right in as the lead runner for a favorable matchup against a 49ers defense that surrendered a league-worst 165.9 rushing yards per game last season. Lacy is in danger of being completely phased out of the offense.

Rawls (ankle) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rawls was a full participant all last week and didn't end up playing, though it wasn't a total surprise after coach Pete Carroll deemed the running back a game-time decision. Carroll sounded far more optimistic when speaking to the media Monday, saying that he expects Rawls back for Week 2 against the 49ers. With Eddie Lacy limited to five carries for three yards on just seven snaps in the opener, Rawls could jump right into action as the lead runner, albeit with rookie Chris Carson providing serious competition for carries and C.J. Prosise handling passing downs.

Head coach Pete Carroll expects Rawls (ankle) to return to action Sunday versus the 49ers, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rawls was held out of Sunday's loss at Green Bay, despite handling every Week 1 practice rep. With a seal of approval from Carroll, a setback is likely Rawls' only hurdle to suiting up in Week 2, during which he'd be a prime candidate to be the starting running back. Backing up such sentiments are the breakdown of snaps in the backfield Sunday. Undrafted rookie Chris Carson handled 26 of 49 offensive snaps, followed by 16 for C.J. Prosise and seven for offseason signing Eddie Lacy. The presence of Rawls could very well push each player down the pecking order at the position.

Rawls (ankle) is listed as inactive Sunday in Green Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Entering the weekend, head coach Pete Carroll considered Rawls a game-time decision, but the running back's potential to play waned as Sunday dawned. Rawls' absence in Week 1 is an opportunity to give his ankle some additional rest in the early going. In the interim, Eddie Lacy is expected to head the backfield, while C.J. Prosise serves in a change-of-pace capacity.

Rawls could be held out Sunday against the Packers in order to allow his injured ankle to get closer to 100 percent, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
EDGE Analysis
Rawls has been considered a game-time decision despite practicing every day this week, but with Eddie Lacy, C.J. Prosise and Chris Carson all healthy, the Seahawks have the luxury of allowing Rawls a little more time before putting him on the field.

Coach Pete Carroll said Rawls (ankle) will be a game-day decision for Sunday's contest in Green Bay, Aron Yohannes of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rawls didn't miss any practice time during the week, which normally would be a clear sign of availability for the upcoming game. However, the Seahawks are a bit unconventional with their handling of the injury reports, and Carroll's statement Friday is consistent with his previous remarks that Rawls is uncertain due to a high-ankle sprain. Rawls should thus be treated as truly questionable, with additional concerns surrounding the extent of his workload if he does in fact play. Eddie Lacy and C.J. Prosise are sure to be involved, and seventh-round rookie Chris Carson may even get some carries.
