Succop nailed all four of his field goal attempts and converted two extra points in Tennessee's Week 1 win over Kansas City.
Succop, signed to a one-year deal after getting released by the Chiefs, enjoyed a perfect return to Arrowhead Stadium. He hit from 36 yards out in the second quarter and then tacked on three more field goals (31, 46, 47) in the second half. The Titans face Dallas at home in Week 2.

The Titans have signed Succop to a one-year deal, the Tennessean reports.
Succop, who is on track to face his former team, the Chiefs, in the Titans' regular season opener on Sunday, will replace Travis Coons, who had remained on the team's roster following Saturdays' cut-downs. Succop, who made 22-of-28 field goal attempts for the Chiefs last season en route to a 118-point campaign, could re-emerge on the fantasy radar if the Tennessee offense clicks out of the gate, but in most fantasy formats, a wait-and-see approach is in order.

Succop is a candidate to sign with the Titans, the Tennessean reports.
The report suggests that the Titans could sign Succop as early as Monday, a scenario that would set the stage for him to kick against his former team (the Chiefs) this coming Sunday. For now, Travis Coons is penciled in as the Titans' kicker, but based on the report, he could be supplanted in advance of Week 1.

Succop was released by the Chiefs on Saturday, the team's official site reports.
Succop had a solid preseason, but he still lost the kicking battle to rookie Cairo Santos. Though he isn't one of the league's better kickers, Succop kept a job with one team for five seasons, and thus figures to draw interest around the league from kicker-needy teams.

Succop his only opportunity, an extra point, in the preseason finale against the Packers.
Succop is the incumbent kicker on the Chiefs' roster, but has been challenged in training camp by Cairo Santos. He has made all three field goal attempts and the four extra point attempts as well, but missed some time from a groin injury and allowed Santos to showcase his skills. The team will likely keep just one of the two, but it's unclear which way they are leaning at this point.

The 54-yard field goal Succop converted in the first quarter of Sunday's preseason game against the Panthers, tied his career-long, the Chiefs' official site reports.
Succop, who added a 25-yard field goal later in the contest, appears past a groin injury that had slowed him of late and his effort Sunday should help his cause as he tries to hold off the challenge posed by fellow kicker Cairo Santos, who made his only attempt on Sunday, from 44 yards out.

Succop (groin) returned to practice Wednesday, ESPN.com reports.
The report notes that Succop saw plenty of work in his return to practice Wednesday, suggesting that he should be able to suit up Sunday against the Panthers. With Cairo Santos mounting a challenge for the Chiefs' kicking job, staying on the field is of the utmost importance for Succop, as he tries to retain the job, which he has held since 2009.

Succop is dealing with a groin injury, ESPN.com reports.
It remains to been how much time Succop will miss, but while he is sidelined, Cairo Santos (who is making a bid to try to unseat Succop as the Chiefs' kicker) is line line for added work. Succop's status for next Sunday's preseason game against the Panthers is unclear at this stage.

Chiefs K Ryan Succop is facing "intense" competition from undrafted rookie Cairo Santos.
Succop was perfectly fine in 2013, but at 22-of-28 on field-goal attempts, came in below the desired 80 percent mark. He's due $1.95 million this season. Cutting Succop would be a cost-saving, but risky, move.

The Chiefs will not bring in competition for K Ryan Succop this season.
Succop only missed six field goals on 34 attempts last season, but three of those misses were from 39 yards out or closer. Still, the Chiefs are issuing a vote of confidence by giving him every rep at OTAs -- and plan to do the same thing at training camp. Regardless, fantasy owners should be looking for kickers in more explosive offenses.
