Clady (shoulder) retired Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The four-time Pro Bowl lineman spent most of his season in Denver, only laying one season with the Jets in 2016. The Jets then opted-out of a $10 million option for Clady, making him an unrestricted free agent. His high price tag along with his shoulder injury made him a difficult sign before training camp, and this ultimately lead to his decision to call it quits.

Clady (shoulder) will not return to the Jets in 2017, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Jets, who traded for Clady last April, had a team option to bring the lineman back in 2017 at a hefty price tag of $10,000,000. However, they declined to exercise that option due to Clady's unwillingness to take a pay cut. His lingering shoulder woes that plagued his 2016 season in which he ultimately wound up on injured reserve may also have had something to do with it as well. It isn't clear what kind of market awaits the 30-year-old, but it's possible he could return to the Jets at a reduced price if Clady can't find a suitor willing to pay him top dollar for his services.

Clady (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Acquired from the Broncos in April, it appears Clady may have played his last game for the Jets considering the oft-injured lineman is unlikely to be kept on the roster for the 2017 campaign at his current $10 million price tag. Look for Ben Ijalana to slide in as the starting left tackle in the interim.

Clady (shoulder) is questionable to play Sunday against the Browns, Seth Walder of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
It has seemingly become a weekly routine for the Jets to write up Clady on their injury report, even though the former first-rounder has played through his shoulder woes since Week 4. Hence, he should be able to suit up once again.

EDGE Analysis
Clady has been dealing with a shoulder injury for a few weeks now but has consistently played through the issue. He was limited in practice earlier in the week before participating on full on Saturday. He shouldn't be held back at all in Monday's game against Arizona.

Clady has been cleared to play and deemed 'good to go' for the 2016 season by GM Mike Maccagnan, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
EDGE Analysis
Acquired within a day of D'Brickashaw Ferguson's retirement, Clady had missed all of the 2015 season with the Broncos due to an ACL tear. Clady is replacing an ironman in Ferguson, a player who only missed a single snap in the entirety of his career because the Jets had pulled their entire offensive line to execute a trick play. On the other hand, Clady has missed 30 games across the past three years and is due a gaudy $6 million in 2016. Should he maintain his health, he could prove to be an upgrade over the aged Ferguson, but the move to acquire Clady is definitely one of high risk and high reward for the Jets. Nonetheless, being in good health today is a good start for both the Jets and the four-time Pro Bowler.
