Panthers agreed to terms with NT Ron Edwards on a three-year, $8.25 million contract. Edwards was expected to be a priority for Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, but the Panthers came in and swiped him away. It's just as well. Edwards is a decent run defender, but the Chiefs have the cap space to make a serious run at Aubrayo Franklin -- a potential impact signing. The Panthers will hope Edwards turns out better than Tank Tyler, the last defensive tackle to go from Kansas City to Charlotte.
