Nkemdiche (calf) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Just before preseason Week 3, Nkemdiche suffered a hamstring injury in practice, resulting in DNPs in the Cardinals' final two exhibitions. He also failed to take part in drills Wednesday, but head coach Bruce Arians was hopeful Nkemdiche would practice Thursday, per The Arizona Republic. Lo and behold, Nkemdiche was able to do so as he prepares for Sunday's season opener at Detroit. Expect him to one of the key cogs as the defense attempts to replace long-time lineman Calais Campbell.

Head coach Bruce Arians said Thursday that he doesn't expert Nkemdiche (calf) to miss any games to start the regular season, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nkemdiche is fighting through a calf strain that he suffered in Tuesday's practice and was given a timetable of two-to-three weeks. It appears as though the Cardinals' coaching staff is on the optimistic side of things, however, with about two weeks to go before the start of the regular season. Nkemdiche will continue to be evaluated on a week-by-week basis.

Nkemdiche strained his left calf during Tuesday's practice, Mike Jurecki of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports. As a result, Nkemdiche is expected to be sidelined 2-3 weeks.
EDGE Analysis
As he limped off the field Tuesday, Nkemdiche was favoring his left leg, but the nature of the injury wasn't initially known, according to Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site. The development is unfortunate for the 2016 first-round pick, who had been tapping into his potential throughout training camp and the preseason (six tackles in 69 defensive snaps across three games). If Nkemdiche's recovery is on the short end, he could return in time for Week 1 prep, but his status is nonetheless iffy for the regular-season opener.

Nkemdiche (hamstring) started Thursday's preseason game against the Cowboys, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The severity of his hamstring injury wasn't clear before, but seeing him back on the field is a great sign for his chances of stealing a starting job from 33-year-old Frostee Rucker. Nkemdiche has had issues with his ankle, elbow and now his hamstring, though, so staying healthy must be his top priority. Expect a good battle from him as preseason continues.

Nkemdiche hurt his hamstring during Tuesday's OTA, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The severity of Nkemdiche's injury isn't clear, but it could be enough to keep him sidelined for the remainder of OTAs. However, head coach Bruce Arians doesn't sound too concerned, saying Tuesday that Nkemdiche has had "a hell of a spring" and even if he were to miss the Cardinals' final two practices before training camp starts up in late July that "it won't mean anything." Thus, it doesn't sound like this hamstring ailment is anything that should keep the second-year defensive end sidelined for long, let alone linger into the regular season.

Nkemdiche (ankle) is fully healthy, head coach Bruce Arians reports via the Cardinals' official site. "That ankle injury was more severe than probably any of us knew until the end of the season when it reoccurred and it was a slight tear. It's all healed now."
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals' first-round pick in last year's draft, Nkemdiche was unable to participate in training camp and only logged a handful of snaps across five game appearances in 2016 due to his injured ankle. However, in the wake of Calais Campbell's departure for Jacksonville, Nkemdiche has a clear path to a starting role and will have a chance to rebound in a big way for Arizona this upcoming season if he can stay healthy.

Nkemdiche (elbow) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Nkemdiche's lack of full participation in practice throughout the week didn't provide much optimism for his Week 14 status, while Calais Campbell and Frostee Rucker will continue to start at defensive end for the Cardinals.
