Burkhead rushed 18 times for 40 yards in Sunday's 22-13 win over the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
The Texans chose to narrow their backfield usage, as Phillip Lindsay was limited to only one carry. Between that and Houston's surprisingly positive game script, Burkhead had plenty of opportunity to produce. However, he failed to get much going, as he averaged only 2.2 yards per carry, and his longest rush of the day went for just nine yards. If the team chooses to continue to narrow the backfield usage moving forward, Burkhead could be a bit more effective in Week 12 against the Jets.

Burkhead had two carries for nine yards in Sunday's 17-9 loss to the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Burkhead, who took a lead role in the backfield last week following the Mark Ingram trade, fell to third behind Phillip Lindsay and David Johnson on Sunday. He was second among the position group with 21 snaps behind Johnson's 31, but the two touches/targets lagged behind Johnson's nine and Lindsay's eight.

Burkhead (hip) was a full participant in practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The full workout puts Burkhead on track to enter this weekend's game in Miami without an injury designation. Burkhead took on his largest workload of the season in the Texans' Week 8 loss to the Rams, playing a backfield-leading 48 percent of the offensive snaps while carrying four times for 21 yards and a touchdown and catching three of four targets for 27 yards. Given that all seven of Burkhead's touches came after the Rams raced out to 38-0 lead after three quarters, he can't be reliably counted on to see as sizable of a snap share against the 1-7 Dolphins this weekend.

Burkhead (hip) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Burkhead was a regular on Houston injury reports throughout October due to the hip issue, but he only missed one game -- a Week 5 loss to New England -- because of it. In the aftermath of the Oct. 27 trade that sent lead back Mark Ingram to New Orleans, Burkhead stepped into his largest role of the season in the Texans' 38-22 loss to the Rams in Week 8, playing 28 of 58 offensive snaps (48 percent) while taking four carries for 21 yards and a touchdown and hauling in three of four targets for 27 yards. The hip injury shouldn't stop Burkhead from playing this Sunday in Miami, but he won't be a lock to pace the Houston backfield in snaps and touches like he did in Week 8 if Houston is able to stay more competitive against the 1-7 Dolphins. Burkhead didn't pick up a carry or record a reception until the fourth quarter of last week's contest, when the Texans entered the final 15 minutes facing a 38-point deficit.

Burkhead ran for 21 yards and one touchdown on four carries and caught three receptions for 27 yards on four targets against the Rams on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Following the trade of Mark Ingram it was assumed that David Johnson and Phillip Lindsay would log more snaps, but instead, they both saw demotions Sunday as Burkhead and Scottie Phillips (five carries for 11 yards, two receptions for nine yards on three targets) took on a larger workload. It's not clear whether the game flow affected the workload distribution -- the Texans fell far behind early and that may have affected their personnel decisions -- but in the meantime there's reason to assume Burkhead will be much more involved than before the Ingram trade. It's a bleak backfield overall, unfortunately, and it's difficult to know what to expect as the Texans head to Miami in Week 9.

Burkhead (hip) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Rams, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burkhead upgraded to full practice participation Friday after a pair of limited sessions, and he's expected to play as a result. With Mark Ingram having been traded to the Saints earlier in the week, Burkhead's expected to work in a rotational role alongside David Johnson and Phillip Lindsay in Houston's backfield.

Burkhead (hip) logged a limited practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Burkhead has battled a hip injury since Week 5, though he's played in each of the team's last two games. Assuming he doesn't suffer any setbacks, Burkhead should be ready to suit up for a Week 8 matchup against the Rams. Burkhead will still likely work behind David Johnson and Phillip Lindsay, but he could see an increased role in the absence of Mark Ingram.

Burkhead (hip) was limited at practice Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burkhead logged just four snaps and zero touches in this past Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, but it's possible he could see a bit more work in the coming weeks, with Mark Ingram headed to the Saints. That said, Burkhead remains behind David Johnson and Phillip Lindsay in the Texans' RB pecking order, so the versatile Burkhead is still off the fantasy radar, at least for now.

Burkhead (hip) is active Week 6 against the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
While Burkhead was able to overcome a missed practice Thursday followed by a limited practice Friday, expectations should be kept in check, as the veteran is essentially fourth on the depth chart. The 31-year-old has seen more snaps on special teams than on offense in each of the past two weeks, and he only played three offensive snaps in his last game action Week 4 against Buffalo.

Burkhead (hip/knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Burkhead missed practice Thursday but was able to participate on a limited basis Wednesday and Friday. Even if he suits up against Indianapolis, Burkhead's unlikely to get many touches with Mark Ingram, David Johnson and Phillip Lindsay all ahead of him in Houston's backfield pecking order.
