Roach (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets. Roach was limited in practice all week and may not have gotten through the NFL's concussion protocol, which likely prompted his inactive status.

Roach (concussion) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets. Roach was a limited practice participant all week, but it seems that he has yet to receive clearance in the concussion protocol. He might be a game-time decision for the Raiders, who will turn to some combination of Miles Burris, Kaluka Maiava and Sio Moore to pick up any snaps Roach leaves on the field.

Roach left Friday's game with a head injury and will not return, CSN California's Scott Blair reports. Friday's game was a devastating affair for the Raiders' defense, as Tarell Brown (head) and Sio Moore (neck) also left with injuries. Hopefully for Oakland Roach can get back on the field soon, as rookie Khalil Mack is the only healthy starting linebacker.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen anticipates new MLB Nick Roach emerging as the "quarterback of our defense." Whereas old Mike 'backer Rolando McClain couldn't play on passing downs, the Raiders believe Roach can excel as an every-down player. "He's kind of taken on that role and really has a passion about leading that team," Allen said of Roach. "With his athleticism ... he's got some things that he can do from a coverage standpoint that lends some flexibility to us." IDPers take note.

Raiders signed LB Nick Roach, formerly of the Bears. Roach has been a valuable utility man for Chicago, capable of playing the strong side as well as the middle. He started 14 games a year ago, finishing with 66 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and four pass breakups. The Raiders likely see the 27-year-old former undrafted rookie as the replacement for headache middle 'backer Rolando McClain.

Free agent LB Nick Roach will visit the Raiders. Signs of human activity in Oakland. Supposedly drawing interest from over a "half-dozen" teams, Roach could man the strong-side in Oakland, or perhaps even replace Rolando McClain in the middle. Oakland is Roach's first known visit.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the number of teams interested in free agent LB Nick Roach is "approaching double digits." Roach is not an exceptional talent, but is a versatile one, capable of playing both strong-side and middle linebacker. Roach holds his own against both the run and the pass, and won't turn 28 until June. If Roach comes off the market quickly after the start of free agency, there will be an added urgency for the Bears to figure something out with Brian Urlacher.

The Chicago Tribune says a "half-dozen" teams have expressed interest in free agent LB Nick Roach. Some clubs are calling to talk to Roach about playing middle linebacker, a position he played for the final four games of last season in Brian Urlacher's absence. The soon-to-be 28-year-old is a middling talent, but he can play both the run and the pass. Ideally, he'd play strong-side linebacker. The Bears want Roach back.

Unrestricted free agent LB Nick Roach hopes to return to the Bears, but only if the price is right. The Bears reportedly would like to re-sign Roach, but are not believed to have made him an official offer to return. Roach has primarily been a two-down player with the Bears, but showed that he's capable of playing in the nickel packages last season when he filled in for the injured Brian Urlacher. Roach is expected to generate interest on the open market when the free agent negotiating period begins on March 9. Teams can begin to sign unrestricted free agents on March 12.
