The more he watches the team practice, Jaguars beat writer Mark Long is "less convinced" that WR Mike Thomas will be on the roster after training camp. Much like Arrelious Benn in Tampa, Thomas is no longer on scholarship with a new sheriff in town. After entering the 2011 season as the default No. 1 receiver, Thomas may be as low as fourth or fifth right now from the tenor of Long's tweet. With a $3.5 million roster bonus coming due, the Jaguars may struggle to find a trade partner for Thomas this summer.

According to ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky, word out of Jacksonville was that WR Mike Thomas "gave up" in frustration late last season. It was more than just the struggles of rookie QB Blaine Gabbert. Thomas didn't get along with WRs coach Johnny Cox, who was subsequently fired by Mel Tucker and replaced with Jerry Sullivan. Between Gabbert's growing pains and the addition of potential No. 1 receiver Laurent Robinson, Thomas will struggle to return to WR3 value in 2012. His Dynasty value is fading.

Jaguars WR Mike Thomas is due a $3.5 million roster bonus this offseason. Thomas' $1.45M salary is guaranteed, so getting out of his contract wouldn't be as simple as it may seem. Thomas, 25 in June, experienced a production dip across the board in 2011 after a career-best season. Perhaps most worrisome, he averaged under 10 yards a catch. The Jags will almost certainly retain Thomas, but must get better quarterback play for him to realize his potential.

Mike Thomas was held to -2 yards on one reception and three yards on one carry against the Colts in Week 17. The Jaguars' nominal No. 1 receiver proved incapable of fulfilling the role, failing to top 50 yards in a game over the league's final three months. Finishing with just 44 receptions for 415 yards and one touchdown, Thomas will ideally be pushed into the No. 2 spot in 2012. His fantasy potential is capped by Blaine Gabbert's presence at QB.

Mike Thomas (concussion) is reportedly "doubtful" to play against the Titans in Week 16. Pro Football Weekly and reliable beat writer Tania Ganguli both hear that Thomas is unlikely to play even after passing his concussion test and participating in a limited practice Thursday. Jarett Dillard, Chastin West, and Taylor Price will be the top-three receivers on Saturday.

Mike Thomas will take a concussion test Thursday to determine his status for Saturday's game against the Titans. Thomas expects to play as he has been asymptomatic since sustaining the concussion in Week 14. He'll act as the No. 1 receiver, but won't be fantasy option in the league's worst passing offense.

Mike Thomas (concussion) returned to Jaguars practice Tuesday. Thomas appears to have been medically cleared and should start at Tennessee. On pace for career lows in catches and yards, he still won't be a fantasy option.

Jaguars declared WR Mike Thomas, WR Cecil Shorts, QB Dan LeFevour, RB Deji Karim, DB Robert McClain, C John Estes, and DE Matt Roth inactive for Week 15 at Atlanta. Jarett Dillard and Chastin West are the starting receivers, though neither is a recommended WR3 option. Josh Scobee (groin) is active and handling field goals, as expected. DuJuan Harris is up as the No. 2 tailback and kickoff returner while Dillard is expected to handle punt returns.

Mike Thomas (concussion) and Cecil Shorts (hamstring) have both been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Falcons. Neither wideout was able to put in any practice time on this short week. Blaine Gabbert will have to deal with Jarett Dillard, Chastin West and Kassim Osgood as his top-3 wideouts Thursday. Marcedes Lewis should be the focal point of the passing game.
