Evans (hamstring) is not expected to play in Saturday's preseason opener, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
This should come as no surprise considering Evans is still dealing with the minor hamstring injury he sustained last week. Most of the team's top pass catchers are not expected to play in Saturday's preseason contest, which could set the stage for Tyler Johnson and Cyril Grayson to see the majority of the first-team reps.

Evans (hamstring) is considered day-to-day and should be able to play soon, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a gigantic sigh of relief for fantasy managers and the Bucs as Evans' hamstring injury could have been far more serious. The big-bodied target has a long history with hamstring issues, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the veteran eased back into training camp. Still, it seems all but certain at this point that Evans' regular-season status shouldn't be impacted by this particular injury.

Evans is tending to a hamstring injury that he sustained at Friday's practice, per NFL reporter Jordan Schultz.
EDGE Analysis
On the same day in which Chris Godwin made his first appearance at practice since suffering a torn ACL back on Dec. 19, Evans made an early exit with a leg issue. It since has been clarified to be to Evans' hamstring, but Schultz reports that it's "minor." Due to his long history of hamstring concerns, there's a good chance the Buccaneers will take the utmost caution with the ninth-year pro and allow him to return to 100 percent before clearing him for on-field work.

Coach Todd Bowles said Evans may have "tweaked" a hamstring prior to his early departure from Friday's practice, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans left early on the same day Chris Godwin (ACL) made his first practice appearance since December. For someone who has missed only seven games across eight NFL seasons, Evans has a surprising lengthy history of hamstring injuries, including one in late 2019 that caused him to miss the final three weeks. Apart from that, he's usually recovered from his hamstring troubles in fairly short order, often putting up big numbers even if he's listed on the injury report. He missed Week 16 with a hamstring injury last year, then erupted for 372 yards and five TDs over the following four games, including playoffs. If this hamstring injury ends up being more serious, the Bucs have Russell Gage and Julio Jones on hand to fill the gap.

Evans left Friday's practice with an apparent leg injury, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans left early on the same day Chris Godwin (ACL) made his first practice appearance since December. Initial reports don't make it sound overly serious, but this is obviously something to keep an eye on with Evans going in the second or third round of most fantasy drafts. He's been TD-dependent since Tom Brady joined the Bucs, and while there was some thought his volume could skyrocket this year, Evans now has solid target competition with Godwin doing well in his rehab and Julio Jones signing up for the superteam. Even so, Evans has eight straight 1,000-yard season to start his career, and he remains an annual candidate to lead the league in TD catches (though he's never actually done it, despite four seasons with a dozen or more).

Evans doesn't expect former teammate Rob Gronkowski to come out of retirement this year, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans said he'd like to see a Gronk return but thinks the big man is done for real this time. With the tight end gone and Bucs wideout Chris Godwin rehabbing from a late-season ACL tear, Evans has a good chance to see more targets than what he got in his first two years playing with Tom Brady (109 and 114). Of course, while the Brady era in Tampa has led to the two smallest target totals of Evans' career, it's also produced 13 and 14 touchdowns (or career highs in back-to-back seasons). There's upside for a top-five fantasy season among WRs if Evans can combine his pre-Brady volume with his Brady-era efficiency, though that's easier said than done when defenses are able to hone in on the 6-foot-5 wideout as Tampa's far-and-away top pass catcher. The Bucs hope Russell Gage, Cameron Brate and others will prove suitable as complementary weapons while Godwin gets up to speed.

Evans secured eight of 16 targets for 119 yards and a touchdown during the Buccaneers' 30-27 loss to the Rams in their NFC divisional-round matchup Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
With Tom Brady clearly bothered by an aggressive Rams front for most of the afternoon, Evans' efficiency became a victim of some hurried throws and tight coverage for a good chunk of the contest. However, he delivered what would have been remembered as the igniter of one of the most memorable comebacks in NFL postseason history when he cleanly beat Jalen Ramsey in one-on-one coverage down the right side for a 55-yard touchdown grab with 3:20 remaining to bring the Buccaneers within seven. Evans' 100-yard effort puts a bow on another spectacular season for the eight-year veteran, during which he racked up a career-high 14 touchdowns alongside tallies of 74 receptions and 1,035 yards across 16 games before posting a 17-236-2 line on 26 targets in two playoff contests.

Evans secured nine of 10 targets for 117 yards and a touchdown during the Buccaneers' 31-15 win over the Eagles in an NFC wild-card matchup Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Evans comfortably paced the Buccaneers in receptions, receiving yardage and targets on an afternoon in which Tom Brady unsurprisingly honed in on him more than any other member of the team's depleted pass-catching corps. The highlight of the veteran's day came on an impressive 36-yard touchdown grab in the latter portion of the third quarter immediately following a Tampa Bay interception. Evans' first opportunity to build on a fruitful postseason-opening effort will come next weekend in a divisional-round battle against either the Rams or Cardinals.

Evans (hamstring) was a full participant at Thursday's practice, Carmen Vitali of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the upgrade from being limited at Wednesday's walkthrough, Evans is good to play through the hamstring injury that he picked up in Week 15 against the Saints. While suiting up the last two games of the regular season, his snap shares of 75 and 72 percent were below his typical 80-plus, but he still managed to gather in 10 of 14 targets for 136 yards and three touchdowns. In a receiving corps down Chris Godwin (knee) for the Buccaneers' playoff run, Evans is the clear top option at wide receiver, and significant volume is likely with the likes of Cyril Grayson (hamstring), Breshad Perriman (hip) and Justin Watson (quadriceps) tending to health concerns.

Evans (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's walk-through practice, Carmen Vitali of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Evans picked up the injury in the Bucs' Week 15 loss to the Saints and subsequently was sidelined Week 16 at Carolina. Shortly thereafter, he had a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but he was able to clear league protocols in time to play Week 17. Still, Evans has been bothered by the hamstring in practice, only to suit up for the final two games of the regular season. He hasn't appeared compromised in either of those contests, turning 14 targets into 10 catches for 136 yards and three touchdowns between those games. In a receiving corps that is now down Chris Godwin (knee) and Antonio Brown, Evans enters the postseason as the primary wide receiver for Tom Brady. Evans will aim to put in a full practice Thursday and/or Friday, which will clear him for Sunday's playoff opener against the Eagles.
