Oakland Raiders: 2014 Fantasy Football Analysis & Team Outlook rotoballer.com Sun 8/31/14 5:01 AM
This article references Darren Mcfadden, DEF, Denarius Moore, James Jones, Matt Schaub, Maurice Jones-Drew, Rod Streater, SP and more! There are very few teams that can comfortably be eliminated from the playoff conversation in August. I am starting to think Oakland is one of those rare teams that have no shot. To compound the point, their team has little to no fantasy value. I'm not sure whether to analyze the players or make fun of their ineptitude. Oakland Raiders QuarterbacksMatt Schaub aka"Pick Six Machine" has resurfaced after a disastrous 2013 season for the Texans. The outlook for this year: not good. W[...]

Houston Texans: 2014 Fantasy Football Analysis & Team Outlook rotoballer.com Tue 8/19/14 5:10 AM
This article references Andre Brown, Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, Ben Tate, Case Keenum, Deandre Hopkins, DEF, Matt Kemp, Matt Schaub, Owen Daniels, Ryan Fitzpatrick, SP, WR and more! The Houston Texans were undoubtedly one of the most disappointing teams during the 2013 season. The offense completely fell apart due to horrific play out of starting quarterback Matt Schaub and a season ending injury to star running back Arian Foster. Despite those setbacks, wide receiver Andre Johnson still managed to put together a decent enough year that kept him fantasy relevant. The 2014 campaign should be a quick turnaround for the Texans under new Head Coach Bill O'Brien who should hav[...]

What's an MFL10 and a Look at My Draft fantasysharks.com Thu 8/7/14 9:00 AM
While MFL10s are becoming more popular than skinny jeans and wayfarers, you may find yourself asking, ‘what's an MFL10?'
MFL10s are 12-team, best ball, draft only, winner-take-all leagues. The scoring is pretty standard points per reception scoring. Click here for full scoring details. There are 22 roster spots, with starting lineups of one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one tight end, 1 flex position (running back/wide receiver/tight end), one kicker, one defense/special teams and 12 bench spots.
If you can avoid all the not-safe-for-work content that pops up when you search ‘my fantasy' online, you may eventually stumble across the MyFantasyLeague site. If you don't want to test how safe Google's "safe" search is, you can just follow this link here . Click on the giant MFL10s advertisement to be whisked away to the signup page . Get yourself registered and pay (via paypal or credit/debit card).
After payment, you wait, worry that you entered the wrong email address, and stress out because you know that the draft start-up email was blocked by the NSA and now you're going to auto-draft Peyton Manning with the second pick. To be petty, the waiting is the hardest part.
Don't worry, check your spam folder, your social tab, supply a real phone number and give your best email address when signing up. Relax, if you got your payment receipt you'll be notified when the league starts.
My invite came about 12 hours after I signed up (either my rapsheet took a while to process or we just had to wait for 11 other addicts to register). The start of this draft marks the end of that bleak, Russian tundra that is your life without football and the beginning of the tropical Jamaican cocktail that is fantasy season. You'll see the green return to the fields and the look of love fade from your wife's eyes as she knows it is now her winter of discontent.
This isn't a mock draft where some yahoo drafts Matt Schaub first overall. No, this is the real deal, you've got skin in the game. This is the official start of your fantasy football year and boy howdy is it long overdue!
Now we can get to the fun part, the draft. I drew pick 4.

Dynasty: Deciding Who to Keep fantasysharks.com Tue 7/29/14 6:00 AM
Every dynasty league has that day. You know it, cut day. The day where you decide who stays and who gets sent back into the draft. You scurry to make trades and get something for that decent player who you are about to cut. You are looking at who got signed where to see if it will impact one of your keepers. You look at what coaches have new jobs or who the new coordinators are. You look for any piece of news that just might give you insight on if someone is worth keeping or if it's time to part ways. You get heartburn trying to decide if that veteran has some years left in the tank or is that young guy finally going to get the snaps he needs to become a star?
The last thing you want to do is cut someone who gets picked up by another team and then that guy is a central piece to their championship run. Because worse than knowing you cut that guy, is your friend reminding you of it every time you see them. The worst part of it all is the season has not even started, yet. In fact, you have not even drafted, yet. This is what I have come to call #DynastyLeagueProblems.
Now that our heads are about to explode with all the things we have to consider before every move we make; who do we actually keep? Before you decide on who to keep you have know the rules of your league. Just like in a redraft league where you have to know the scoring system, in a dynasty league you also have to know the roster rules. When is the deadline to make your cuts? How many players do I have to keep? Are there any positions requirements? Are there options for keeping more or less players? All of this is just the tip of the iceberg, too.
Deadline to Make Your Cuts
You should always wait until the deadline to make your cuts. Hopefully the cut deadline is sometime in July, because usually by July we can start to see where things will shake out. Between the NFL draft, free agency, coaches going to new teams and injuries, you can really start to see the value of players for the upcoming season.
The NFL draft can give you an indication what a team thinks about a player. For example, when the New York Jets drafted Geno Smith it was obvious they were looking for someone to challenge Mark Sanchez to start at quarterback, so keeping Sanchez on your team might not have been a good idea. Free agency does the same thing for me as the draft does, but it is usually more immediate. With rookies, a team might be more willing to wait a year before throwing them to the fire, free agents are ...
TRADING SPACES: Matt Schaub fantasyfootballwarehou... Mon 5/19/14 1:00 PM
Looking for some stability at the QB position, the Raiders signed Schaub to a 2-year deal, including paying him $8M large this season as he holds down the fort also until rookie Derek Carr (selected in the 2nd round, 36th overall) learns the ropes and gets ready.
Dynasty Rookie Rankings fantasysharks.com Tue 5/13/14 9:06 AM
It may have taken awhile to finally arrive but the 2014 NFL draft was well worth the wait. The weekend was full of twists, turns and the inevitable longer than expected waiting for certain names to be called. There were fewer early round trades than expected but enough to keep things interesting. It's always a fascinating event to behold and this year's version did not disappoint.
Grades will be assigned much too early to teams because...well... we love grades, dang it! I will allow folks much more invested in the college game to handle those assignments and stick to what I know best. Now that we know where the rookies will be plying their trade for the 2014 season we can begin to evaluate their fantasy value. For the sake of this article we will be looking at the dynasty value of this year's rookie class.
Some of these youngsters are poised to hit the ground running and pay immediate dividends for fantasy owners while others will require a bit of time to reach the potential shown in college. Injuries, offensive schemes and sometimes just plain old luck can factor in to a player getting the chance to shine and projecting when those opportunities will come to fruition can be a bit tricky.
That being said here is a first look at dynasty rankings for the top of the rookie class of 2014 from an offensive skill position standpoint.
QUARTERBACKS
1. Teddy Bridgewater, MINNESOTA: Bridgewater will beat out Matt Cassel for the starting gig and benefits from playing with the best RB in the league and a solid supporting cast. The QB of the future will also be the starting QB week one in 2014.
2. Blake Bortles, JACKSONVILLE: Forget the talk of sitting out a season as Bortles starts from week one. He'll grow in the offense with fellow rookies Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson along with veteran Cecil Shorts as his receiving corps.
3. Johnny Manziel, CLEVELAND: Manziel's devil may care playing style doesn't usually lend itself to a lengthy NFL career. He'll be exciting as long as he is on the field but the concern over the lack of immediate receiving options and potential for injuries limit his long term value.
4. Derek Carr, OAKLAND: Carr will sit and learn the offense behind Matt Schaub for at least one season. In the meantime, the Raiders can upgrade the WR and TE positions before Carr takes the reins.
5. Zach Mettenberger, TENNESSEE: The Titans would love for Mettenberger to get completely healthy before taking over as the starting QB. Jake ...
Rounds 2 & 3 Reaction dynastyfootballwarehou... Sat 5/10/14 6:09 PM
@ZuluDeltaRomeo Quarterbacks Derek Carr (Oakland) was the first offensive position guy off the board in the second round and he landed in a questionable situation. The Raiders receiving corps at this point isn't going to do him any favors when he beats out Matt Schaub for the starting gig. Jimmy Garoppolo (New England) throws a [...]
