Despite the loss of Jamaal Charles, FB Le'Ron McClain's primary role will continue to be lead blocker.
"Everything has been the same," McClain said. "I just got the game plan today and was out there at fullback doing my thing." McClain's role is subject to change if Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster falter. As of now, though, he's without fantasy value.

Le'Ron McClain carried the ball four times four 15 yards in Kansas City's Week 2 loss to the Lions.
He added two catches for 12 yards. McClain could be in for a bigger workload with Jamaal Charles looking likely to miss some time with a knee injury, but won't be worth a look in fantasy leagues unless he emerges as the Chiefs' goal-line back, something he is unlikely to do.

Coach Todd Haley confirmed that FB Le'Ron McClain will not take any carries away from Jamaal Charles or Thomas Jones.
McClain has been outspoken in the past about his desire to carry the rock previously. But Haley made it very clear to McClain what his role is. "I'm a fullback, and I'm here to win. Two things. Just two things: Getting Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones 1,000 (yards) apiece, that's what I'm here to do," McClain said.

Chiefs signed FB Le'Ron McClain.
The Chiefs have been in talks with McClain for nearly a week. McClain has made no secret about his desire for more carries in 2011, but he's not terribly likely to get them in Kansas City unless Thomas Jones appears to have lost another step in training camp. One of the best lead blockers in football, he should be a huge aid for Jamaal Charles as he looks to follow up his monster 2010 with another All-Pro campaign.

The Chiefs are still expected to sign free agent FB Le'Ron McClain, although nothing is imminent.
We know that McClain badly wants a role as a ball-carrier, so perhaps he's still searching for that opportunity. As long as Thomas Jones sticks in Kansas City, there wouldn't be much room for McClain to do anything but lead block.

The Chiefs are expected to show interest in FB Le'Ron McClain once free agency negotiating commences.
McClain would be an interesting short-yardage complement to Jamaal Charles. While he does have versatility to lead block as well as grind out tough yards, we wonder if McClain's addition could push Thomas Jones off the roster. Jones is going on age 33 and coming off a near-completely ineffective season.

The Baltimore Sun believes free agent FB Le'Ron McClain is unlikely to return to the Ravens without "assurances" he'll get more than the 49 touches he did in 2010.
McClain has spent his entire offseason trying to get leaner and more explosive, but it seems hard to believe he'll generate much interest as anything other than the bruising lead-blocker he's been the past two seasons. He has more skills than the average fullback, but there's no reason to think he'll ever repeat his 251-touch 2008.

Free agent FB Le'Ron McClain has lost weight and gained explosiveness this offseason in preparation for a bigger ball-carrying role in 2011.
McClain loves the Ravens and considers Baltimore his home, but he's willing to move if he's not promised a running back role. "The sick feeling I have in my stomach is I wish I could've done more [the last two years]," said McClain. "I wish I could've been more involved." The Ravens want McClain to set his market before committing to him.

Coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron have told GM Ozzie Newsome that a capable fullback is a priority in the Ravens "revamped" offense.
If the Ravens can't find common ground with free agent LeRon McClain, the Baltimore Sun suggests All-Pro Vonta Leach or veteran Lawrence Vickers will be considered. Newsome wants to sign a lead-blocker to a contract that covers four or five years.
