Cager played one snap and was not targeted in Sunday's 13-10 win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Cager and Ja'Marcus Bradley were signed off the practice squad, as the Browns rolled without Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) and Anthony Schwartz (concussion) against the Lions. Bradley (55 snaps) was the clear beneficiary of the opportunity. Should only one of the injured receivers return next Monday in Baltimore, then Cager would be the first removal from the active roster.

Cager has been elevated to the Browns' active roster ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Cager was just activated off the practice squad's reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus. He will now help provide depth at receiver in Week 11. With Anthony Schwartz (concussion) ruled out and Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) questionable, he could potentially see some snaps right away.

The Browns restored Cager to their practice squad Wednesday after he spent time on Cleveland's reserve/COVID-19 list, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cager landed on the Browns' reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive for COVID-19 before Week 10. After missing time over the last week, the receiver will return to the Browns' practices as soon as possible.

Tue 11/9/21 2:48 PM

Cager did test positive for COVID-19 on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cager was placed on the Browns' practice squad COVID-19 list Monday, but it was not known if he had actually tested positive or was a close contact. Cager will try to clear protocols and return to the field as quickly as possible.

Mon 11/8/21 4:04 PM

Cager was placed on the Browns' practice squad COVID-19 list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Cager joined the Browns' practice squad Oct. 4 after failing to make the Jets' initial 53-man roster to begin the season. The second-year wideout has yet to make an appearance this season, so his absence shouldn't affect Cleveland's offensive gameplan.

Mon 10/4/21 11:29 AM

Cager signed with the Browns' practice squad Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Cager failed to make the Jets' 53-man roster to begin the 2021 campaign, but he'll attempt to carve out a role on Cleveland's practice squad. The 24-year-old appeared in two games with the Jets last year and hauled in two of his six targets for 35 yards.

Mon 8/30/21 3:32 PM

Cager was waived by the Jets on Monday, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cager appeared in two games for the Jets last season, recording two catches for 35 yards. The second-year receiver scored a touchdown in the Jets preseason game against the Eagles but clearly it wasn't enough for him to make the roster. Look for Cager to try to sneak onto a roster or practice squad somewhere else.

Sat 8/28/21 1:49 PM

Cager (leg) caught three of five targets for 21 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason finale against Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Cager battled a leg injury earlier in camp but has since recovered. He used his 6-foot-5, 220-pound frame to create space and come down with a two-yard fade pass from Josh Johnson in the end zone to cap New York's opening drive. Cager's an intriguing red-zone target, but the second-year wideout out of Georgia hasn't made much of an impact thus far. He's likely headed for a practice squad spot at best once the Jets cut down their roster.

Thu 5/27/21 12:31 PM

Cager went down in pain during Wednesday's OTA with an apparent injury to his left leg, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record, the injury looked like a left hamstring issue. He ultimately made his way to the locker room on his own alongside a trainer, so it appears he may have avoided the worst-case scenarios. Even so, he's likely set to miss some offseason work as a result, which doesn't bode well for a receiver on the roster bubble. He should still have plenty of time to get back in action if the issue isn't deemed serious.

Sat 12/12/20 7:12 PM

Cager signed with the Jets on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Cager played two games for the Jets earlier this season, catching two passes for 35 yards. With Denzel Mims (personal) ruled out this week and Jamison Crowder (calf) questionable, Cager will add necessary depth for Sunday's game versus the Seahawks.
