Murray is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
With Murray -- a recent addition to Denver's roster -- inactive Thursday, Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone are in line to lead the team's Week 5 backfield, with Devine Ozigbo up from the practice squad to provide added depth versus Indianapolis. Murray will now look to make his debut for the Broncos in Week 6 against the Chargers.

Murray isn't expected to be active for Thursday's game against the Colts, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rapoport relays that Murray, who logged 11 carries for the Saints this past Sunday in London before being signed by Denver, is expected to debut with the Broncos in Week 6 against the Chargers. If Murray is indeed inactive Thursday, Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone would be in line to handle the Broncos' rushing duties versus the Colts now that Javonte Williams (knee) is on injured reserve.

The Broncos signed Murray off the Saints' practice squad Tuesday, Aric DiLalla of Denver's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
In a corresponding move, the Broncos placed Javonte Williams (knee) on injured reserve after the second-year back sustained season-ending ACL and LCL tears in Sunday's loss to the Raiders. The addition of Murray gives the Broncos another experienced option to complement Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone, who could be first in line for reps out of the backfield until Murray gets acclimated with his new surroundings. Because the Broncos face a quick turnaround for Week 5 with a matchup against the Colts on Thursday, Murray may hold only a limited role in his team debut, if he's active for the contest at all. Murray had previously elevated from the Saints' practice squad for their Week 4 loss to the Vikings in London, carrying 11 times for 57 yards and a touchdown while turning his lone target into an eight-yard gain.

The Broncos are signing Murray off the Saints' practice squad, Mike Klis of Denver 9News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Denver is bringing in Murray to help fill the void created by Javonte Williams' season-ending ACL tear. Murray will join a Broncos backfield that includes the fumble-prone Melvin Gordon (neck) and Mike Boone. Murray had reverted back to the Saints' practice squad after rushing for 57 yards and a touchdown Week 4 against the Vikings, making the 32-year-old running back available for any team to sign.

Murray rushed the ball 11 times for 57 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-25 loss to the Vikings. He added one reception for eight yards.
EDGE Analysis
Murray split touches evenly with Mark Ingram, in the absence of Alvin Kamara (ribs). Murray looked more impressive with the opportunity, highlighted by eight rushes of more than five yards. He also plunged into the end zone from one yard away to tally his first touchdown of the season. Murray has spent the majority of the campaign on the Saints' practice squad, though he could return to the active roster if Kamara remains out for a Week 5 matchup against the Seahawks.

Murray was elevated to the Saints' active roster Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Saints already ruled out quarterback Jameis Winston (back/ankle/hip) and wide receiver Michael Thomas (foot) ahead of Sunday's game in London, and it's possible the move to call up Murray might be in conjunction with the status of Alvin Kamara, who is listed as questionable with an ongoing ribs injury. If Murray were to be officially active for Sunday's game, it would mark his second stint with the Saints after playing with them across the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Murray was signed to the Saints' practice squad Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Though he won't be immediately added to the 53-man roster, Murray -- who previously spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons with the Saints -- may not have to wait long to begin his second stint in New Orleans. His addition to the practice squad could hint at some concern about the health of Alvin Kamara (rib) and/or third-stringer/special teamer Dwayne Washington (hamstring), who are both nursing injuries in advance of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. Coming off a 2021 campaign with Baltimore in which he tallied 501 yards and six touchdowns on 119 carries to go with 10 receptions for 75 yards in 14 games, the 32-year-old Murray went unsigned in the offseason.

Murray rushed 16 times for 150 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 16-13 overtime loss to the Steelers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Devonta Freeman was sidelined with a ribs injury after just five carries, paving the way for Murray to carry the backfield load. The veteran back responded admirably, even ripping off a season-long 46-yard touchdown run that snapped a 3-3 tie. Murray had seen his carries rise back to 11 in Week 17 against the Rams, but Sunday's performance served as a reminder of his ability to perform effectively with an expanded workload, albeit against a weak run defense. Nevertheless, Murray does turn 32 later in January and is headed into unrestricted free agency, so his likeliest role in 2022 will be as a complementary back once again.

Murray had 11 carries for 31 yards against the Rams in Week 17.
EDGE Analysis
Though the uptick in volume was an improvement, Murray still struggled to turn the increased opportunities into production, as he was held under 3.0 yards per carry yet again. Murray has gone over the 30-yard mark three times in his last seven games, and his highest total in that stretch was 48 against Green Bay. The veteran has just one rushing touchdown since Week 6. Murray and the Ravens finish the regular season Sunday against the Steelers.

Murray had five carries for 12 yards and caught one pass for 12 yards Sunday against the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
Murray's snap count dipped below 20 for the third time in four games, and his effectiveness dropped back down as well, as he averaged 2.4 yards per carry. Murray has seen five-or-fewer carries in three of his last four games and has broken the 20-yard mark just once in that stretch. The Ravens host the Rams in Week 17.
