Coach Hue Jackson was noncommittal Tuesday when asked if Carson Palmer or Kyle Boller would start against the Chiefs if Week 7. "You think I'm gonna tell you that?" asked Jackson. "We'll see as we continue to move through the week ... I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag." Beat writers consider Boller the favorite, allowing Palmer to use the bye week to get up to speed in Oakland. Considering Jackson's aggressive philosophy, however, we wouldn't be surprised in the least if Palmer draws the start. The Raiders are going to lean on the ground attack regardless.

In relief of Jason Campbell, Kyle Boller completed 8-of-14 passes for 100 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Sunday's win over the Browns. Campbell broke his collarbone in the second quarter and is expected to miss the rest of the season. That leaves Boller, who was asked to merely manage a lead today, as the starter going forward. We'd expect the Raiders to go extremely run-heavy as Boller's inaccuracy and history of poor decision-making are red flags. Boller won't be a fantasy option against the Chiefs next week. It's also possible the Raiders will reach out to a free agent like David Garrard for help.

Kyle Boller is ahead of Trent Edwards in the battle to be Jason Campbell's backup. Boller was the first quarterback off the bench in Sunday's third preseason game, going 5-of-7 for 69 yards in limited work. Edwards then came on and got sacked three times, lost a fumble and looked uncomfortable. Either way, the Raiders' offense figures to go extremely run-heavy if Campbell goes down.
