The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Browns are not interested in free agent Kellen Winslow, despite his claim to the contrary. New coach Rob Chudzinski coached Winslow at the University of Miami and during his 2007-08 stint as the Browns' offensive coordinator, but apparently isn't keen on a reunion. Winslow's creaky knees likely have something to do with it. Winslow is doing his best to create the appearance of a market for his services, but there shouldn't be any rush to get him under contract.

Free agent TE Kellen Winslow says he's drawing interest from the Browns and Panthers in addition to the Raiders. "I think I could fit in anywhere," Winslow said Monday on NFL AM. "I'm a mismatch. I'm basically a basketball player playing tight end." It's good to see Winslow hasn't lost his confidence after appearing in just one game last season. Although he says he's healthy, any potential interest in Winslow will depend almost exclusively on the state of his troublesome knees.

The Raiders have shown interest in free agent TE Kellen Winslow. Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Winslow's knees are "finally healthy" and he wants to "keep going." We'll believe it when we see it. The Raiders are in the market for a tight end and could offer Winslow a minimum salary contract.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer says free agent Kellen Winslow is still "suffering from tremendous pain in his knee" from his 2005 motorcycle accident. The topic was brought up in a chat when a reader asked if the Browns and Winslow could reunite in 2013. Beat writer Mary Kay Cabot points out that new head coach Rob Chudzinski and Winslow have a "great relationship" dating back to their days together at the University of Miami, but she doesn't see the fit. Winslow appeared in one game with the Patriots in 2012 before requesting his release.

According to SI.com's Peter King, "smart people" knew Kellen Winslow and Patriots coach Bill Belichick "would never be a fit." King hears from a source that Belichick inquired about Winslow during the offseason only to be told by good friend Greg Schiano, in effect, "You do not want this guy." Winslow had previously said he "had to roll" out of Tampa because he didn't like Schiano's "toes on the line!" approach. It's no surprise that he lasted just a week with Belichick.

Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie "looked into" free agent TE Kellen Winslow, but opted to pass on signing the veteran. The Raiders decided they were fine at tight end with Brandon Myers leading the NFL in catch percentage. While McKenzie respects Winslow's talent, he acknowledges the tight end's knee issues "weigh heavily on any decision."

Kellen Winslow made one catch for 12 yards in New England's Week 3 loss to the Ravens. Making his Patriots debut, Winslow ran as the No. 4 tight end behind Rob Gronkowski, Daniel Fells and Michael Hoomanawanui, drawing only two targets. Hoomanawanui also made a catch, his first of the season. None of Winslow, Fells or Hoomanawanui are threats to come into fantasy value during Aaron Hernandez's absence.

Kellen Winslow will be active for Week 3 against the Ravens on Sunday Night Football. Winslow was just signed on Tuesday this past week. He'll look to replace some of the production lost with Aaron Hernandez's injury, but he's not a recommended fantasy play after only having a couple of days in Josh McDaniels' offense so far. Winslow has been battling soreness in his surgically-repaired right knee for the past two seasons. Fantasy owners looking to replace Hernandez should look towards Brent Celek or Dennis Pitta.

Profootballtalk confirms Kellen Winslow has passed his physical with the Patriots. With Aaron Hernandez (ankle) and Visanthe Shiancoe (hamstring) sidelined and Michael Hoomanawanui struggling badly in Week 2, the Pats needed depth for two-tight end sets. With no experience in Josh McDaniels offense, Winslow can't be counted on for an impact in fantasy leagues. Hernandez owners should target Brent Celek, Dennis Pitta or Martellus Bennett instead.
