Moore is expected to announce his retirement but stay on with the Cowboys as their new quarterbacks coach, Alex Marvez of The Sporting News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The former Boise State QB finished last season on Dallas' practice squad after losing his backup job to rookie Cooper Rush, and Moore will finish his NFL career having appeared in only three games, all of which came with the Cowboys in 2015. His move into the coaching ranks would also seem to indicate that Scott Linehan will stick around as Dallas' offensive coordinator, as the two have a history together dating back to 2012 with the Lions.

Moore was signed to Dallas' practice squad Friday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Moore was released by the Cowboys on Thursday in order to make room for the signing of tight end Blake Jarwin. Moore could potentially be promoted to the active roster should either Dak Prescott or backup Cooper Rush suffer an injury.

The Cowboys released Moore on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Dallas already had another backup quarterback on hand in Cooper Rush and didn't want tight end Blake Jarwin to get poached from their practice squad, so they promoted Jarwin to the 53-man roster and bid adieu to Moore, who hadn't appeared in an NFL game since 2015. It's not expected that Moore will draw much interest as a backup option elsewhere around the league, so if he goes unclaimed off waivers, he could remain in the organization as a member of Dallas' practice squad, according to Brandon George of The Dallas Morning News.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that Moore would re-sign with the team, Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones' announcement comes just three days after the Cowboys cut him from their roster in what was presumably an indication that undrafted rookie Cooper Rush had captured the backup gig behind starter Kellen Moore. However, in addition to announcing that Moore would rejoin the Dallas roster, Jones said that the team hasn't decided whether Moore or Rush will serve as Prescott's understudy in the Week 1 clash with the Giants. The team's gameday inactive report should provide more clarity on that front.

Moore was released by the Cowboys on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Moore entered training camp as the backup to Dak Prescott, but undrafted rookie Cooper Rush made an impressive push to usurp Moore from that No. 2 job.

Moore completed 10 of 21 passes for 131 yards and lost a fumble during Saturday's preseason game against the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
While offensive coordinator Scott Linehan has full trust in Moore's abilities as a backup QB dating back to their time together in Detroit, undrafted rookie Cooper Rush has badly outplayed the veteran so far in the preseason, showing more arm strength and touch on his passes and looking like a much better option should anything happen to Dak Prescott. With the Cowboys already having a roster crunch on the 53-man roster due to the number of suspended players they'll have to juggle early in the year, it's unlikely they'll be able to keep three QBs, so their decision may come down to Linehan's comfort level with Moore's floor versus Rush's clear upside -- and in the NFL, upside almost always wins.

Moore re-signed with the Cowboys on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Moore returns to Dallas after spending all of last season on injured reserve due to a broken leg suffered in August. Now fully recovered from that fracture, Moore is currently positioned as the Cowboys' No. 3 quarterback, but with Tony Romo sure to leave the team at some juncture, Moore could compete for Dallas' second-string job behind Dak Prescott during training camp.

Moore (lower leg) is fully recovered from the season-ending leg fracture he suffered last summer, KTVB.com reports. "I'm 100 percent now. It's been good. For the last month or two I've been healthy. I've been able to start doing everything as usual," he elaborated.
EDGE Analysis
Moore broke his fibula last August and spent the entire season on injured reserve. However, he appears to have been healthy for a while now and should be fully prepared to hit free agency at the end of the league year in March. The Cowboys like what they have in the Boise State product, so with Mark Sanchez an unrestricted free agent as well and Tony Romo (back) destined for a trade or release, Moore likely possesses the greatest odds of becoming Dak Prescott's backup in 2017.

Moore (lower leg) was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Moore broke his left ankle during a practice drill early in the preseason and he'll spend at least a portion of the season on the sideline because of it. The veteran was likely going to be the No. 2 quarterback behind Tony Romo, who is now expected to miss at least half the season with a fractured vertebra. Rookie Dak Prescott, who has impressed many this preseason, now take the reigns under center. Because of the Cowboys' lack of depth at quarterback, Moore could be the perfect candidate to return from the IR mid-season if healthy, as each team is allowed to take one player off the IR after Week 6.

Moore, who suffered a broken left ankle Tuesday, is expected to miss three to four months, NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Moore is slated to undergo surgery Wednesday to address the issue, which for the moment leaves Dak Prescott and Jameill Showers -- a pair of inexperienced signal-callers -- as the team's backup options behind starting QB Tony Romo.
