Hemingway (back), who was waived/injured last week, was released off injured reserve Tuesday, the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hemingway seemed like a candidate to be placed on injured/reserve following his release by the team last week, but apparently the Chiefs feel he's a lost cause. As a result, he's now a free agent available to sign with other teams.

Hemingway (back) was actually waived/injured Tuesday, and has now been placed on injured reserve.
EDGE Analysis
Hemingway's back injury kept him out of much of training camp, and he'll now spend the remainder of the season on injured reserve. His role with the team remains unclear, but it will likely be tough to earn a 53-man roster spot when healthy with the Chiefs' newfound wide receiver depth.

Hemingway (back) was released Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
EDGE Analysis
There are no sure things behind Jeremy Maclin, but Albert Wilson (shoulder) and Chris Conley have emerged as the favorites to soak up snaps and targets. Hemingway, a seventh-round draft pick in 2012, has 25 receptions for 233 yards and two touchdowns in 31 career games.

Hemingway, an exclusive rights free agent, was tendered a one-year deal for the league minimum Friday, the Kansas City Star reports.
Hemingway finished the 2014 campaign with 12 receptions for 108 yards over 14 games, but also serves some on special teams. With the expected trade/release of Dwayne Bowe, he would then sit among the top three receivers. However, the Chiefs will likely add receivers in free agency and/or the draft, and Hemingway's role will likely continue mostly as a special teams player once again in 2015.

Hemingway didn't record a stat in the season finale against the Chargers.
Hemingway benefited from the injury to Donnie Avery in the middle of the season, but he dropped further down the depth chart with the emergence of rookie Albert Wilson. The second-year wideout out of Michigan collected 12 receptions for 108 yards over the course of the season, and now heads into the offseason as a free agent. He figures to be more of a depth receiver at his landing spot for the 2015 season.

Hemingway (concussion) will not play Sunday against the Cardinals, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports.
Hemingway's concussion occurred against the Raiders two weeks ago, but he still hasn't been cleared to return. When the 25-year-old wideout does make it back, he will likely be buried on the depth chart behind Dwayne Bowe, Donnie Avery and Jason Avant.

Hemingway (concussion) will miss Sunday's game against the Broncos, Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports.
Hemingway suffered a concussion in last Thursday's game against the Raiders, and it appears he hasn't cleared the protocol to return. Donnie Avery could return for Sunday's contest, and would receive the majority of the snaps if healthy, with Frankie Hammond and Jason Avant also in the mix for snaps.
