Jacobs (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday but said he'll be ready to play in Sunday's game against Detroit, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Matt LaFleur also hinted at Jacobs' injury being minor, relaying earlier that the running back "rolled" his ankle late in the fourth quarter and wanted to re-enter Sunday's 30-27 win over the Jaguars. The Packers held him out for the final few snaps but now seem optimistic about having Jacobs ready for an NFC North showdown this Sunday. Quarterback Jordan Love (groin) appears in more danger of missing the game, which would put more of the offensive burden on Jacobs and the other pieces of Green Bay's running game (backup quarterback Malik Willis as well as backup running backs Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks).

Jacobs missed Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury he suffered toward the end of Sunday's 30-27 win at Jacksonville, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Matt LaFleur said Jacobs wanted to go back into the game but was prevented from doing so on the final drive. The Packers ended up winning on a chip-shot field goal after a 51-yard connection between backup quarterback Malik Willis and wideout Jayden Reed. If healthy enough to play this Sunday against the Lions, Jacobs could be even more emphasized than usual in the Green Bay offense if quarterback Jordan Love (groin) -- who also sat out practice Wednesday -- is unable to suit up this weekend.

Jacobs is not participating in practice Wednesday due to an undisclosed issue, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs' absence may simply be related to load management, but the Packers' first Week 9 injury report will be released later Wednesday and will provide clarity on that front. Quarterback Jordan Love (groin) is also sitting out practice Wednesday and is uncertain to play Sunday against the Lions, making Jacobs' status even more important than usual for the Green Bay offense. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks are both available as depth options behind Jacobs.

Jacobs rushed 25 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns while losing two yards on his only reception in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs punched in Green Bay's first and final touchdowns en route to a narrow victory. The lead back's second-half performance was crucial after starting quarterback Jordan Love (groin) left Sunday's tilt in the third quarter. Jacobs is a significant part of the Packers' game plan whether or not Love is able to suit up against the Lions next Sunday, so fantasy managers should start the 26-year-old with confidence.

Jacobs rushed 12 times for 76 yards while catching all five of his targets for 16 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-22 win over the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs saw a light workload in the first half, turning six carries and two targets into 38 scrimmage yards. He didn't take long to get going after halftime, breaking off a 27-yard run on Green Bay's first possession of the second half and capping that drive with an eight-yard touchdown reception. It was his first career touchdown catch, coming on the 212th reception of Jacobs' career to set a record for most receptions before scoring a receiving touchdown. With the receiving touchdown monkey finally off his back, Jacobs will look to add to his season total of two scrimmage touchdowns when the Packers travel to Jacksonville in Week 8.

Jacobs rushed 18 times for 62 yards and caught all three of his targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 34-13 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs has reached 90 scrimmage yards in four of six games with the Packers but has only one touchdown this season, as all four of Green Bay's touchdowns Sunday were scored by wide receivers. The former Raiders running back is poised for another substantial workload in Week 7 against the Texans, but Jacobs will have to work hard for his yards against a Houston defense that just held Patriots running backs to 44 rushing yards on 21 carries (2.1 YPC).

Sun 10/6/24 10:03 PM

Jacobs rushed the ball 19 times for 73 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Rams. He added one reception on one target for 21 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs was utilized heavily throughout the game to reach 20 total touches for the second time this season. He turned in a mediocre effort from an efficiency perspective, with his longest gain of the day coming on a 21-yard reception that got the Packers deep into Rams territory on a touchdown drive. Jacobs also tallied his first touchdown of the campaign on a two-yard plunge to open the scoring in the contest. While his production has been sensitive to game script, Jacobs has shown a floor of at least 13 touches heading into a Week 6 matchup against the Cardinals.

Sun 9/29/24 7:13 PM

Jacobs rushed nine times for 51 yards and brought in four of six targets for 27 yards in the Packers' 31-29 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs averaged an efficient 5.7 yards per carry, and he complemented the rushing performance with a season high in receptions and receiving yards. His rushing opportunities were curtailed overall due to a game script that saw the Packers fall behind by a large margin over the first two quarters-plus, but he still managed to cobble together a reasonably productive performance relative to opportunity. Jacobs next takes aim at the Rams' inconsistent defense in a Week 5 road matchup.

Sun 9/22/24 6:05 PM

Jacobs rushed the ball 14 times for 43 yards in Sunday's 30-14 win over the Titans. He added one reception on one target for five yards.
EDGE Analysis
Jacobs saw his fewest carries of the season, seemingly in part due to game plan but also due to ineffectiveness, as he had only 11 yards on seven carries at halftime. Jacobs salvaged his day to some degree with a 10-yard gain late in the fourth quarter, and he also had a 23-yard rush wiped away by a penalty on the next play, but it was still a subpar performance. He should see plenty of work in Week 4 against Minnesota, and the return of Jordan Love (knee) could help both his volume and efficiency return to a more normal level.

Jacobs (back) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at Tennessee, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
For s second week in a row, Jacobs has operated with a cap on his practice reps due to a back injury, but it won't impede him from serving as the Packers' No. 1 running back this weekend. The biggest question mark in Green Bay's offense remains the status of Jordan Love, who is listed as questionable and may be a game-time call, per Bill Huber of SI.com. No matter who among Love or Malik Willis is under center, Jacobs should handle a healthy dose of carries, as he has 48 through two contests this season.
