Smith caught four of five targets, racking up 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 33-30 win against the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old tight end is off to a sterling start to his 2020 campaign, having already matched his career high in touchdown receptions through just two outings. Smith's involvement in the passing offense has significantly spiked; he is on pace for over 95 targets this year after never exceeding 44 targets in any of his first three professional seasons. There's no guarantee that Smith continues to produce the way he has between Week 1 and 2 once A.J. Brown (knee) makes his return to the receiving corps, but it is notable that Brown (eight) and Smith (seven) were only separated by one target when both were in the lineup against Denver last Monday. Heading into Week 3, Smith prepares to face a Vikings defense that surrendered five catches and 111 yards to Indianapolis' Mo Alie-Cox on Sunday.

Smith hauled in four of seven targets for 36 yards and a touchdown during Monday's 16-14 win against Denver.
EDGE Analysis
Entering his fourth NFL season out of Florida International, Smith kicks off 2020 atop Tennessee's tight end depth chart. The 25-year-old already has 39 career starts and 45 appearances to his name, yet he has never surpassed 45 targets, 450 receiving yards, or three touchdowns in any professional campaign. His Week 1 usage indicates a potential season-long increase in all three of those statistical departments, as he was just one target behind Corey Davis and A.J. Brown for the team lead. Next up for Smith is a Week 2 matchup against a Jaguars defense that allowed five catches and 69 yards to opposing tight ends in its season opener.

Smith is the undisputed top tight end in Tennessee, Jim Wyatt of the team's official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith was the top guy after Delanie Walker suffered season-ending injuries the past two years, handling 75.3 percent snap share in 2018 (13 games) and 70.8 percent share in 2019 (16 games). Smith's impressive work after the catch helped him produce 12.7 yards per reception and 9.4 per target the past two years, but he's never seen consistent volume in the run-first Tennessee offense, averaging only 3.7 targets in the nine games Walker missed last year. While Walker is now out of the picture, the Titans have shown some affinity for using Anthony Firkser over Smith in obvious passing situations -- a role that allowed Firkser to average 2.4 targets over the final nine games last year. Smith has the talent to be a high-end fantasy asset in the right role, but it isn't clear if he'll get enough volume to provide steady production in Tennessee this season. He's entering the final year of his rookie contract and will turn 25 in late August.

Smith hauled in 35 of his 44 targets for 439 yards and three touchdowns across 16 games in the 2019 season.
EDGE Analysis
Smith benefitted from another injury-plagued campaign for Delanie Walker (ankle), posting career-best marks in targets, yards, and receptions. He also showed strong rapport with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, racking up more than 50 receiving yards in four of the nine games that Tannehill started. However, plenty of questions remain for the fourth-year tight end heading into the 2020 season, particularly the potential return of Walker. Even if Smith were to remain the starting tight end in Tennessee, he may be an inconsistent performer due to the overall lack of passing volume in the Titans' offense.

Smith secured two of three targets for 12 yards and a touchdown in the Titans' 28-12 divisional-round win over the Ravens on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The third-year pro opened the scoring in the upset with a 12-yard scoring grab late in the first quarter, and although he was minimally involved thereafter, his role in helping the Titans establish a positive early tone was certainly invaluable. Smith's usage has fluctuated considerably at times this season, but he'll look to make an impact in next Sunday's AFC Championship Game versus either the Texans or Chiefs, two teams that were vulnerable to the tight end position all season.

Smith was not targeted in the team's Week 17 win over the Texans. However, he did rush the ball once for seven yards.
EDGE Analysis
Smith was held without a target for a second time this season, producing only seven yards of total offense. However, he was still on the field for 81 percent of the team's offensive snaps, well ahead of both MyCole Pruitt and Anthony Firkser. Smith will likely draw a bigger role in the team's first-round playoff matchup against New England on Saturday, and he'll look to capitalize on his ability to gain yards after the catch. He'll also have plenty of motivation to produce next season, as he's entering a contract year and could be in line to take over as the team's starting tight end if Delanie Walker (ankle) opts to retire.

Smith hauled in three of his four targets for 63 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 16 loss to the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
Smith accounted for nearly two-thirds of his production when he recorded a 41-yard touchdown on the team's opening possession. On the scoring play, he caught a pass from Ryan Tannehill while flashing across the middle of the field about 12 yards from the line of scrimmage before turning upfield to find the end zone. Smith opened the Titans' following drive with a 15-yard reception, seemingly putting him in line for a massive performance. Though that didn't come to fruition, Smith has surpassed 60 yards in consecutive games and appears to be developing rapport with Tannehill. Smith will look to connect for another touchdown in the team's regular-season finale against the Texans in Week 17.

Smith caught all five of his targets for 60 yards and picked up 57 yards on his lone rush attempt during a 24-21 loss to Houston on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Smith lined up behind Ryan Tannehill on the Titans' opening snap of the fourth quarter and peeled off a 57-yard gain on a toss play to the right, the longest run by a tight end in 43 years. Prior to Sunday there had only been three occasions all season in which a tight end had broken 20 miles per hour as a ball carrier, but Smith was able to achieve that feat two times Week 15 while gaining 17-plus yards on three of his six offensive touches. In Tennessee's upcoming Week 16 matchup against New Orleans, Smith will be in search of his second touchdown in three games, taking on a Saints defense that has surrendered just three TDs to opposing tight ends all season.

Smith hauled in three of four targets for 29 yards and one touchdown in the Titans' Week 14 win over the Raiders.
EDGE Analysis
Smith was fairly ineffective until he managed his second touchdown of the season early in the fourth quarter. The score came on a well-covered misdirection play that required Smith to make a contested catch over the Raiders' defensive backs. Despite the positive performance, Smith has seen no more than four targets in each of his past three games, making him a touchdown-reliant producer. Smith will look to become more involved in Week 15 against the Texans.

Smith hauled in both of his targets but combined to record 0 yards in the team's Week 13 win over the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Smith had little role in the team's offense and did even less with his limited opportunity. On his first reception, Smith was caught behind the line of scrimmage for a two-yard loss, which he followed one quarter later with a two-yard gain on a pass over the middle. Though Delanie Walker (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Smith is not a worthwhile option due to his limited volume and lack of production.
