Maclin caught his lone target for a five-yard gain in Thursday's preseason game in Miami.
EDGE Analysis
In addition to having a regular spot across from Mike Wallace in two-wide formations, Maclin mostly appeared to play the slot, as expected, when the Ravens had three receivers on the field. Any talk of Breshad Perriman (hamstring) pushing Maclin or Wallace for a top-two spot can be put to rest, as the 2015 first-round pick missed nearly all of training camp for a third straight year and may not play this preseason. Maclin and Wallace, in some order, are clear favorites to lead the team in targets, though Danny Woodhead might not be too far behind. The Ravens are optimistic Joe Flacco (back) will be ready for Week 1.

Maclin is expected to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Dolphins, Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday marks Maclins official Ravens debut after he sat out Week 1 of the preseason. Zrebiec reports that several of Baltimore's veterans and new additions, such as Danny Woodhead, will also be making their preseason debuts Thursday. Still, it's unlikely that Baltimore would risk having its first-teamers play more than a handful of series, and fans won't be able to see how Maclin's rapport with quarterback Joe Flacco is progressing as Flacco remains hampered by a back injury.

Maclin will not play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Redskins, Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Ravens will keep their top receivers off the field Thursday as Maclin, Mike Wallace, and Breshad Perriman (hamstring) will all be on the sidelines. Maclin is not dealing with any injury, so this is likely just a precautionary move to keep a veteran out of harm's way in an exhibition. Look for Maclin to be on the field when the Ravens return to practice.

Maclin said he played through a torn groin last season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
EDGE Analysis
The severity of the groin injury helps explain Maclin's slow finish to last season, though he only averaged 4.3 catches for 54 yards per game even before suffering the injury in the first quarter of a Week 9 contest against Jacksonville. He sat out Weeks 10-13 and averaged only 3.2 catches for 38 yards in Kansas City's final five games (including playoffs). The poor finish, in combination with Tyreek Hill's emergence, led the cap-strapped Chiefs to release Maclin after just two seasons of a five-year contract. The Ravens jumped on the opportunity to reunite Maclin with offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, who previously worked with the 29-year-old wideout in Philadelphia from 2009 to 2012. Maclin should draw a steady diet of targets while manning the slot in three-wide formations, and he also figures to get plenty of snaps even when the team only has two receivers on the field. Maclin, Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman all project for key roles, as the Ravens no longer have Steve Smith, Kamar Aiken and TE Dennis Pitta -- a trio that combined for 185 catches and 272 targets last season.

Maclin will work primarily out of the slot this season, ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports.
EDGE Analysis
Maclin's crisp route running and his diverse route tree will allow offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg to be creative with Baltimore's new weapon in the passing game. Considering that both Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman are both at their best getting deep down the field and utilizing their speed, the addition of Maclin fills what could have been a major hole in Baltimore's passing attack. What's more, Dennis Pitta's release opens up even more underneath targets for the likes of Maclin, who could be something of a safety net when quarterback Joe Flacco is under duress. Hensley also notes that Maclin played under Mornhinweg while he was in Philadelphia earlier in his career, which is expected to lead to a smooth transition into the offense for the 29-year-old. Maclin's diverse skill set and route running capability adds another dimension to what figures to be a new-look Raven offense in 2017.

Maclin could emerge as the Ravens' No. 1 wide receiver, ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley reports.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to signing Maclin, the Ravens were banking on Breshad Perriman taking a big step forward and Mike Wallace handling heavy target volume. While the signing doesn't necessarily preclude either of those things from happening, Maclin's presence alleviates some of the pressure -- along with some of the fantasy upside -- from both of his teammates. Given his ample experience playing both outside receiver and the slot, Maclin could step into a role that's similar to the one Steve Smith filled last year. Smith came back from a torn Achilles suffered in 2015 to catch 70 of 103 targets for 799 yards and five touchdowns in only 14 games last season. However, not all players age as gracefully as Smith, and the 29-year-old Maclin just so happens to be coming off the worst season of his career. If he doesn't look good in training camp and the preseason, Baltimore could stick with Wallace and Perriman as the starters in two-wide formations.

Maclin signed a two-year deal with the Ravens on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After visiting with the Ravens and the Bills last week, Maclin decides to head to Baltimore where he'll likely become No. 1 target on the depth chart ahead of Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman. The 29-year-old saw career-lows across the board last season with the Chiefs, in part due to a groin injury that cost him four games, but this new beginning could be just the spark Maclin needs. If he can quickly get on the same page as Joe Flacco, the veteran wideout could be primed for a major fantasy output in Baltimore's pass-first offense this season.

Maclin, cut by the Chiefs on Friday, is scheduled to visit the Bills on Tuesday, The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
There will be several organizations in the running for the established wideout, so this is far from a sure thing for a team that's rebuilding and doesn't have a ton of money to spend. Still, the Bills would have a nice look with Maclin lined up across from Sammy Watkins, and supposedly Tyrod Taylor and LeSean McCoy (who stood up in Maclin's recent wedding) are pushing hard for the Bills to take the plunge.

The Chiefs released Maclin on Friday, the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
After wrapping up phase 2 of the Chiefs' offseason program Thursday, general manager John Dorsey shockingly opted to move on from their No. 1 wideout. In reality, the move may have made with salary-cap implications in mind, as Maclin was due $9.75 million in base salary for the upcoming campaign. On top the hefty contract, he also missed four games in 2016 due to a groin injury, resulting in career-worst production across the board. As he enters the free-agent market, though, he'll likely have a number of ideal organizations vying for his services.

Maclin collected four passes on five targets for 53 yards in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Maclin's sophomore campaign with the Chiefs hasn't come close to matching his first, having nabbed just 44 passes in total on 76 targets versus 87 catches for 1,088 yards a year ago. He also found pay dirt just twice on the season, well off his 2015 pace when he reached the end zone eight times. He should lead the receiving corps in snaps in the postseason and could be a buy-low candidate in drafts next season.
