Jeff Tuel completed 18-of-39 passes for 229 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Bills' Week 9 loss to Kansas City. He scrambled three times for 17 yards. Tuel did well to not absorb a single sack against Kansas City's defense, but threw a 101-yard pick six to Sean Smith and clearly lacks arm talent to be a starting NFL quarterback. His passes consistently wobble Matt Flynn style. The CBS announcers stated during Sunday's game -- repeatedly -- that E.J. Manuel (knee) is on track to start in Week 10 against Pittsburgh. We're not sure those were reliable "reports," but the Bills can do better than Tuel, even if it means reinserting Thad Lewis at less than full health.

Manuel (knee), Bills rookie QB Jeff Tuel was ineffective in Buffalo's Week 5 loss to the Browns, completing just 8-of-20 passes for 80 yards and a game-sealing pick six. Just five months removed from going undrafted, Tuel was predictably overmatched. His throws lacked zip while his feet were happy. The undrafted free agent blatantly stared down his read on his game-ending interception. Although Tuel will have 10 days to get ready, the entire Bills offense will go in the tank if he has to start Week 6 against the Bengals. The Bills should be in the market for an actual backup quarterback.
