TRADING SPACES: James Casey fantasyfootballwarehou... Tue 7/9/13 5:00 AM

We round out the 2013 Trading Spaces series (barring any trades or perhaps say a Brandon Lloyd signing) with a player who admittedly had some sleeper value before the NFL Draft and Philadelphia added Zach Ertz high in the 2nd round. That said, Casey will get mixed in likely as an H-Back out of the fullback position and is a versatile contributor and will be a good presence for whomever ends up starting at quarterback for the Eagles.

Fantasy Intelligence Report: Week 5 News Nuggets, Hot Sheet, and Fi... fantasysharks.com Sat 10/8/11 3:00 PM

Let's get to it. N.N. -- News Nuggets According to the Houston Chronicle Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson could miss up to three games, a huge blow for both the Texans offense and fantasy owners. His agent though, insists that he's just fine, and will be back. "Andre's fine," Kennard McGuire said Tuesday. "He's looking forward to being back with his teammates." Johnson recently underwent a surgical procedure to prevent scar tissue from forming around a slight tear in his right hamstring. Wide receiver Jacoby Jones and tight ends James Casey and Owen Daniels will be targeted a little more in his absence. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Falcons receiver Roddy White isn't exactly living up to his own standards and has dropped two critical passes in each of the past two games. "Right now, I'm not playing at a high level," White said. "I'm not really helping my team. I have to fix myself so that we can perform better. We'll get better." The good news is that his quarterback, Matt Ryan, is confident that his top wideout will get back on track and start making the big plays when called upon. "My thinking is, Roddy is going to make those plays," Ryan said. "He has done it for such a long time and he's going to continue to do it for us. It's a long season. There are still a lot of plays for him to make and he's going to make them. My confidence never wavers with him." Meanwhile, rookie Julio Jones has kicked it up a notch, and recorded his second consecutive 100 yard performance last week, while being targeted 17 times. This week both White and Jones are great plays against a Packers defense that allows big chunks of yardage through the air. According to the St Paul Pioneer Press, Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield is expected to miss this week's game against the Cardinals thanks to a neck injury. Chris Cook will likely replace him in the starting lineup. Overall, Winfield has been a force for the Vikings, and his absence is a huge blow to the defense, but a huge gain for Larry Fitzgerald and Kevin Kolb fantasy owners this week. In other words, if you have Fitzgerald and Kolb it would be wise to start them, especially with bye weeks in full swing now. According to The Dallas Morning News, Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is getting closer to 100 percent and insists that it won't be long before his recovery from a deep thigh bruise injury he suffered in Week 1 against the Jets is complete. "I'll be 100 percent next week," Bryant said after...

Waiver Wire Wonders fantasysharks.com Tue 9/27/11 1:58 PM

The waiver wire still has plenty of potential. Monitor what is out there versus what you have in your final few roster spots. Even if there's a player out there that you can't use, if it is an upgrade to your roster and you can keep a player off your opponent's team, then make the move. We've got a couple of running backs listed that are in line to see be starters for their team this week. A couple of tight ends for those that are hurting at that position. Wide outs continue to get a lot of play here, one in particular will have an immediate short term and long term impact. We've even got a kicker listed in this week's "Hot List". On to this week's wonders... Smokin' Hot WR Nate Washington, Tennessee With Kenny Britt done for the season, Washington moves into the starting lineup, a place he will occupy for the rest of the season. He responded this week with eight catches for almost a hundred yards and a touchdown (this coming off a performance of seven catches for 99 yards in week 2). Matt Hasselbeck clearly had no trouble throwing in Washington's direction, targeting him early and often. Look for this to continue as Washington is a player that will have an immediate and long term fantasy impact. PK Jason Hanson, Detroit That's right, we're listing a kicker in this week's hot list. I debated on dropping Hanson into last week's story, this week he makes a splash in the top section as he's still available in many leagues. Fantasy points are so precious, when you have the opportunity to grab one of the hottest kickers in the game, then you have to make the move. The Lions' offense has been potent all season, and Hanson added four kicks this past week to push his season total to eight (three of them have been 40 yards or more). TE Randy McMichael, San Diego With Antonio Gates lining up foot specialists all over the country "just to be sure", that's a pretty big red flag that something isn't right. McMichael made an immediate impact when pressed into service this past week, catching four balls for 51 yards. The Chargers starting tight end is always an active participant in the offense, McMichael is an excellent short term solution for those in need at the position, and could have long term potential if Gates is out for an extended period of time. RB Bernard Scott, Cincinnati Owned in a shade over 50% of leagues, that number is sure to skyrocket with the news that Cedric Benson has been suspended for a handful of games. Scott will be the starter for the ...
