Butt (knee) will be cleared to participate in training camp, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Butt, who tore his ACL for the third time in the last five years, has played in just three games since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. A report surfaced at the end of March that Butt wouldn't be able to practice until sometime in August, so it's encouraging to see the team confident the injury-prone tight end can take part immediately. The Broncos are expected to slowly transition Butt back into the fold, but the 23-year-old could be fighting for a roster spot after the team re-signed Jeff Heuerman to a two-year deal during the offseason and also selected Noah Fant with the 20th pick in draft.

Coach Vic Fangio said he's hopeful Butt (knee) will be available for training camp, Zac Stevens of BSNDenver.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The beginning of training camp sounds optimistic given Butt's statement in late March that he was still about five months away from being able to practice. His timeline hints at a possible stint on the PUP list to begin the season, which shouldn't come as any surprise for a player recovering from his third ACL tear in a five-year span. The injury in September at least took place in his left knee, while the first two tears impacted his right. The Broncos don't seem to be counting on Butt for a major contribution in 2019, as they re-signed Jeff Heuerman to a two-year contract and drafted Noah Fant at No. 20 overall.

Butt (knee) said he is about five months away from being able to practice, Kyle Fredrickson of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rehabbing from his third ACL tear, Butt apparently isn't on track for the start of training camp but could be ready at some point during the first half of the 2019 season. He's pleased with his progress since suffering the latest injury in late September, and there's no question the Broncos could use some help at tight end after losing Matt LaCosse to the Patriots. The team did re-sign Jeff Heuerman, who served as the starter in 2018 until a bruised lung and broken ribs forced him to injured reserve in late November. It won't come as any surprise if Denver supplements the position with an early draft pick.

Butt (knee) is aiming to return to the field in time for OTAs this spring, Ryan O'Halloran of the Denver Post reports. "I'll be here all offseason rehabbing and at the very least I'll be fully healthy for [training] camp," Butt said. "I'm progressing and I have goals. I want to at least be doing something during OTAs. I feel really good."
EDGE Analysis
Butt, who tore up his knee twice in college, is on the mend from a torn ACL in his left leg that he suffered in practice last September. The tight end will be roughly seven months removed from surgery by the time OTAs roll around in late April, which is likely too early to expect someone to be running at full speed. With that said, we just saw the Chargers' Hunter Henry return from an ACL tear in less than eight months. Regardless of when he exactly returns to the field, Butt seems on track to be ready to play far before the start of the 2019 season. With Jeff Heuerman (ribs) set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the league year, Butt is very well in the running to earn the starting job in Denver.

Butt caught eight of 12 targets for 85 yards in 2018.
EDGE Analysis
After essentially red-shirting as a rookie -- still recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the Orange Bowl -- Butt lasted just three games in his sophomore campaign before suffering another torn ACL in practice. When he was on the field, Butt drew praise from teammates and coaches in practice and looked to be building a solid rapport with Case Keenum in games. Assuming he regains his health, he looks to be the best of a large collection of young, unestablished options at Denver's disposal. One couldn't blame the Broncos' brass, however, if they look for additional options in free agency or the draft given Butt's run of injuries.

Butt (knee) has been placed on injured reserve, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since joining the league last season, Butt has already suffered two torn ACLs, last season in his right knee and now in his left. In a corresponding move, the Broncos added tight end Brian Parker to their active roster from the practice squad. Look for Jeff Heuerman to see increased snaps with Butt now out.

An MRI has confirmed that Butt will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn left ACL, NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Butt missed his rookie season in 2017 while recovering from an ACL tear to his right knee that he suffered college. Now that he's out for the year, fellow tight end Jeff Heuerman is in line for added targets in the Denver offense moving forward.

It is feared that Butt suffered a torn ACL,Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's reportedly a non-contact injury he suffered during a walk-through. If this brutal news is confirmed, Butt will be done for the season and fellow TE Jeff Heuerman's profile in the Denver offense figures to expand.

Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said Butt was a limited participant in Thursday's practice due to a left knee injury, Zac Stevens of BSNDenver.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It looked like Butt would be a spectator for the Broncos' first practice of the week after he wasn't on the field with the rest of his teammates for the start of the session, but it appears he fit in some work behind closed doors. The fact that he was able to practice in some capacity seemingly bodes well for his chances of playing Monday against the Chiefs, though Joseph noted the Broncos' training staff is continuing to evaluate the knee injury. On a more fortunate note, Butt's injury isn't to the same knee that required reconstructive surgery in January 2017, when he was still in college at Michigan.

Butt wasn't present for the start of the Broncos' practice Thursday, Zac Stevens of BSNDenver.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Butt wasn't believed to have endured any health-related setbacks during Sunday's 27-14 loss to the Ravens, so it's possible that he was getting a personal or maintenance day Thursday. Denver will provide an official explanation behind Butt's absence when it releases initial injury report shortly after practice concludes.
