Yates will join the Dolphins to provide the team with quarterback depth in the wake of the knee injury starting signal-caller Ryan Tannehill suffered in Week 14. It's not clear how long Tannehill will be out, but Yates will serve as the Dolphins' backup quarterback behind Matt Moore for as long as Tannehill is sidelined.
