With Tony Romo reportedly diagnosed with a season-ending back injury, Kyle Orton is expected to be the Cowboys' starter for Sunday's winner-take-all tilt with the Eagles.
Coach Jason Garrett laughably claimed in Monday's presser that there's still a chance Romo will start, but every report asserts the contrary. That leaves Orton to make his first start since 2011. One of the league's highest-paid backups, Orton has attempted just 15 passes since arriving in Dallas in March 2012. He has 69 games of starting experience, but is the owner of a career 79.7 quarterback rating, 58.4 completion percentage and 6.6 YPA. He'll give the Cowboys a better chance than most backups, but it still won't be a good one. That being said, Orton will be an intriguing option in daily leagues as he goes up against a soft secondary in what will likely be a high-scoring game.
