Williams (knee) will not be participating in OTA practices this week and won't be on the field for mandatory minicamp, BuffaloBills.com reports. "You know I think we're just going to kind of gradually build on every day through OTAs, even into training camp," said Williams. "The main goal circled is making sure we're ready to go in September. How much or how little of training camp? I don't know. I don't think that plan has been totally put together yet. But definitely gearing toward getting ready to play when it matters."
EDGE Analysis
Williams is expected to start at right defensive end as he enters his 11th NFL season. However, his age, unfamiliarity in Rex Ryan's 3-4 defense, and the fact that he'll be coming off a major injury all work in unison to drive down his previously high IDP value. At best, he'd be a healthy, productive member of an improved defense, but probably a guy that gets his play time monitored or subbed out in certain packages.
