White failed to pull in any of the three passes thrown his way Thursday. He did handle punt returning duties in the preseason win over San Diego.

EDGE Analysis

White was expected to slide into the slot receiver role vacated by Bruce Ellington (ankle), but the 49ers brought in Jeremy Kerley to compete for the position and White hasn't done anything to separate himself as an option. Head coach Chip Kelly hasn't named the winner of the job battle, but we should hear more as we get closer to Sept. 12. At the bare minimum, White should make the team as a return man.
