While a decision on Gordon's potential reinstatement is not imminent, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suggested that his staff is working toward that end, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The commissioner indicated that he may elect to meet with Gordon -- who was suspended indefinitely last January for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy -- before making a call on the wideout's request for reinstatement. With that in mind, Goodell noted that he'll know more on that front in a week or two once he gets a report from his staff. Given such a time-frame, Gordon's status probably won't be clarified in advance of the Browns offseason program, which starts on April 4th. That said, it appears as though there is hope that there could be some resolution with regard to Gordon's 2016 playing status in advance of the NFL Draft, which takes place April 28-30.
