The Patriots designated Davis (concussion) for a return from injured reserve Thursday, Zack Cox of NESN reports.

Davis has resided on IR since Nov. 28 due to the concussion, but he was able to return to practice Thursday. The Patriots will have 21 days to activate the Iowa product, as Davis could suit up as early as Sunday's game against Miami.
