Coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday that he would be surprised if Ford (calf) wasn't available for Week 1, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Ford tweaked his calf during practice last week but wasn't expected to be out very long. At this point, it's still safe to assume that Ford will be ready to rock when the season begins Sept. 13 against the Cardinals, barring any injury setbacks.
