Funk is set for an expanded role Sunday against the Buccaneers with Darrell Henderson (ribs) inactive for the contest, Jordan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Rodrigue labels Funk as a "featured" back along with veteran Sony Michel, but given the latter's edge in experience and solid second-half showing (10 carries, 46 yards) against the Colts in Week 2, it's reasonable to expect he'll pace the backfield in carries. Nevertheless, Funk should be in line for a solid complementary role at a minimum after playing just three snaps from scrimmage over the first two games of his NFL career, all coming last Sunday against Indianapolis.
