The Saints have reportedly signed P Thomas Morstead to a six-year, $21.9 million extension. The deal makes Morstead the second-highest paid punter in the NFL, behind only Oakland's Shane Lechler. The deal reflects Morstead's dual value as both an elite punter as well as one of the league's top kickoff specialists. According to Pro Football Focus, no full-time punter allowed fewer than Morstead's 116 return yards last season.

$21 million for a punter? And a Saints punter too? How often do the Saints punt per game? Over six years they are pretty much paying this guy $100k per punt. Maybe he holds for FG and XP's, too. If that's the case then the Saints are getting a bargain.
