The Broncos are working on a five-year contract extension with unsigned franchise player K Matt Prater. If no long-term agreement is reached, Prater will be forced to play out the season for $2.6 million. According to the Denver Post, the extension figures to average more than $3 million per season. The two sides are reportedly close enough that Prater could be signed in time to participate in next week's mandatory minicamp.
