The Broncos and franchise player K Matt Prater are "not far apart" on a long-term contract. The organization's latest proposal would pay Prater more than $3 million per season, which would bring him in line with the top handful of kickers in the NFL. The sides have until July 16 to strike a deal, or Prater will play under the $2.64 million franchise tag.
