Steelers agreed to terms with FS Mike Mitchell, formerly of the Panthers. Mitchell, 27 in June, had a number of teams hot on his trail. The Steelers are replacing an aging Ryan Clark with a young, hard hitter in Mitchell at free safety next to Troy Polamalu. Mitchell is coming off a career-year, and it'll be interesting to see if he was a product of the Panthers' stout front seven. The talent on the defensive line in Pittsburgh isn't comparable. Mitchell can cover and play the run.
