Smith was originally expected to miss at least a week after injuring his shoulder in last Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. After participating in practice Thursday and Friday on a limited basis there's reason to be optimistic about his game status. If he's eventually ruled out look for TJ Carrie to fill in at cornerback.
