Shaheen played eight offensive snaps and wasn't targeted in the Bears' 23-17 loss to the Falcons on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Listed at 6-foot-6 and 270 pounds with a 4.79-second 40-yard dash time, Shaheen is a physical freak the Bears can dream on, but it doesn't appear coach John Fox is ready to carve out much of a role for the rookie on offense, at least for now. Despite his size, Shaheen's blocking still remains a work in progress, and his lack of experience against high-level competition -- he played at Division II Ashland during his college days -- could result in a longer developmental curve as he transitions to the NFL. It seems the Bears will at least plan to keep Shaheen active most weeks due to his sizable role on the team's special teams units, where he compiled 17 snaps in Week 1.
