McNichols recorded two carries for nine yards in Sunday's Week 1 loss to the Cardinals. He added three receptions on four targets for 24 yards.
EDGE Analysis
McNichols served his anticipated role as both a change-of-pace back and primary receiver out of the backfield. His only two carries came with under two minutes remaining in the game and victory well out of reach. On the other hand, he may have had an inflated role as receiver based on the Titans' need to throw in an attempt to come back in the contest. Though McNichols isn't projected to carry any significant workload with Derrick Henry leading the backfield, he seems to be Henry's primary backup so long as Darrynton Evans (knee) is sidelined.
