The Seahawks designated Carson (neck) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
As coach Pete Carroll predicted Monday, Seattle expected Carson to return to practice Wednesday, and this procedural move allows him to do just that. Carroll also told Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times that the team will take it "one day at a time" with Carson as he aims to get past the sore neck that sidelined him for four games before a Week 9 bye. Carson likely will be eased into drills this week, and with a 21-day window to activate him from IR, the Seahawks technically can wait until after a Week 12 game at Washington on Monday, Nov. 29 to make such a decision, or they could keep him on the reserve list for the rest of the season. While Carson attempts to get back to full health, the backfield will be the domain of Alex Collins, with Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas on hand for any reps that linger.
