Redskins SS Brandon Meriweather (knee) is not expected to play in Washington's second preseason game. Meriweather was able to increase his practice reps this week, but still hasn't been cleared to make his preseason debut. With rookie Phillip Thomas on injured reserve, Meriweather will open the season as the Redskins' starting strong safety.
