Profootballtalk reports that, as of Wednesday evening, the Panthers had yet to show interest in free agent Hakeem Nicks. It goes against the Charlotte Observer's Thursday report that Nicks was the Panthers' top target to replace Steve Smith. As far as we know, Nicks has yet to schedule a visit, and has been greeted by an ice-cold market. It would be damning if Panthers GM Dave Gettleman, a former member of the Giants' front office, doesn't want Nicks. Of course, it could be as simple as the Panthers not having the money.
