Cleveland will release Tretter on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tretter's release will clear $8.2 million in cap space for the Browns to maneuver in free agency, but losing one of the more reliable centers in the league is also a notable blow for a run-first offense. The transaction appears to set up 2020 fifth-round pick Nick Harris to start at center for the 2022 season. Tretter, whose only missed game in the last five years came as a result of COVID-19 protocols, will enter his age-31 season in a new uniform.
