On NFL Live Wednesday, ESPN's Chris Mortensen suggested benched QB Josh Freeman's trade value is zilch.
"They would probably take anything for him at this point," Mortensen stated. In addition to poor performance, Freeman carries a fully guaranteed $8.43 million base salary that any team would have to take on if they acquired him via trade. That's barring an in-season restructure/extension, which would seem awfully unlikely. This year's NFL trade deadline is October 29.
If Freeman wants to be traded that bad maybe he offers to restucture his contract or maybe the Bucs kick in part of his salary - there's no way TB can go back to him after this - How about a Jag trade of Blaine Gabbert and Freeman - this way you just swap trash cans. . . .
