Michael Turner was held to 17 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, adding 13 yards on three receptions at Tampa Bay in Week 12.
Leary of becoming one-dimensional after last week's five-interception game by Matt Ryan, the Falcons game-planned to establish Turner and a ground attack against the league's top run defense. The plan was quickly scrapped when it failed due to a lack of any semblance of burst that has been evident from Turner since late last season. A far more effective Jaquizz Rodgers reached double-digit carries for just the second time this season. Turner salvaged his day with a two-yard touchdown, but we're long past the point of trusting him in fantasy leagues. Despite a few long runs when the defense was paying attention to the passing game, Turner is averaging just 3.5 YPC heading into a Week 13 rematch with a Saints defense that shut him down in Week 10.
He's far from consistent but Turner will continue to be rewarded in ATL's offense around the goal line - he's still worthy of a roster spot and maybe a flex play in the right matchup - don't know if I'd trust my playoff life with him though . . .Then again the same was said about Reggie Bush over the past two weeks and he was a solid flex this week (so was Daniel Thomas though). . .
am i crazy to drop turner for moreno? neither one will start for me so its mostly an insurance spot going into the playoffs and to keep moreno off my next oppenents team
I like Turners match up this week but it honestly looks like a time share w/Rogers the rest of the way so Turners # look more like a flex play than anything else - Moreno has the upside here with potential RB2 #'s as teams need to respect the pass vs Manning - Look for 80yds+ on the ground and another 20-40 on check downs for Knowshown. . . YES - I would
