McCown will be replaced by rookie Cody Kessler as the Browns' starting quarterback Sunday against the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
McCown started versus the Jets last Sunday while Kessler was out due to a concussion, but with the rookie clearing protocol this week, Kessler will reclaim Cleveland's first-string gig. Although McCown began the season ahead of Kessler on the depth chart, the 37-year-old is hardly a long-term solution for the Browns, who want to get a better look at their 2016 third-rounder over the remainder of the campaign. So while McCown's return to fantasy relevancy was short-lived, the Browns' lack of injury luck at quarterback could always see him back taking snaps if Kessler goes down again.
