Matt Schaub completed 34-of-45 passes for 346 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the Texans' Week 1, 31-28 win over the Chargers on Monday night. The Texans were down 28-7 early in the third quarter, but they rattled off 24 unanswered points to win on a last-second, 41-yard field goal by Randy Bullock. Schaub opened the night with an interception on the first play from scrimmage. He overcame it and methodically worked the Texans down the field all night, excelling in play-action. Schaub found Andre Johnson a dozen times and relied on him heavily on third downs. Schaub's three scores went to tight ends Owen Daniels (2) and Garrett Graham (1). The Texans open their divisional schedule with their home opener against the Titans in Week 2.
