Matt Schaub completed 18-of-37 throws for 176 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Texans' Week 16 loss to the Broncos. Schaub "only" took three sacks, but spent much of the game backpedaling and throwing high or wide of his intended targets. He clearly wasn't the spark the Texans needed to pull a Week 16 upset. It wouldn't be surprising if the Texans turned to T.J. Yates in Week 17 against the Titans, assuming Case Keenum (finger) isn't cleared. Schaub could easily be done in a Houston uniform.

It is unfortunate Houston is the biggest small market in the country, because man what a train wreck. Start 2-0, and then lose 13 (soon to be 14) straight? Incredible. Schaub certainly blew horribly this year, but I think it was primarily the coaching. With Houston sprinting toward the #1 pick, a new (true) franchise QB is on the way. Question is whether it would be wise to keep Schaub around as a mentor/fail safe. He was obviously hot garbage this year, but has been an uninspiring non-liability in previous years. Of course, after the nightmare he's endured in 2013 he probably can't wait to get out of town, and he could likely start somewhere else. How would Schaub look in black and silver?
