Mathews has yet to officially sign his three-year deal with the Eagles, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. What was thought to be a done deal Wednesday is apparently not official, as the two sides merely had agreed in principle to a three-year, $11.5 million contract. Mathews has yet to actually sign his contract, leaving the door open for an unexpected snag. Per Schefter, fellow free agent DeMarco Murray plans to visit the Eagles on Thursday, and if a deal is agreed upon, it could throw a wrench in the Mathews agreement.

Not sure what's going on if Philly but if they really sign Murray and I was the owner I would be calling Chip Kelly to my office immediately and demand to know what he is doing with my franchise. Why trade away McCoy only to bring in Murray and pay him the same type of money? Makes no sense to me at all except they got Alonso but for my money I would much rather have McCoy than Murray.

If they get murray for say 5-6 million a year AND get alonzo, it was a great deal for the eagles. I agree with your logic, but kiko could be just as big for them as a good rb. Now some of the other moves like the Bradford deal may leave people scratching their heads.

I am sure there is much more that we don't see. If he gets Murray, especially without signing Mathews, I think the guy made some brilliant moves!

Exactly, totally with clrkj123.

Kelly did not like that Shady would not run up the gut but Murray will. so he wants players that will better fit his system instead of him changing his system to fit the players. i dont agree with whats going on but only because up to this point, the caliber and injury prone players he has been replacing his studs with are piss poor at best.

Do you think Murray is going to take 5-6 million? Im sure that Oak and Jac are throwing money his way so I don't see him taking that much less to play for the Eagles.

not sure of his motivation. is it money or the desire to play for a contender? we shall see.

Sure seems to play for contender, but you never know. I mean in the end, whats the difference between 5million and 6million? And don't say 1 million. I get that.

well, if your career only lasts for 7 years, 1 mill is huge.
