Maclin plans to sign with the Chiefs, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports. Nothing can be official until Tuesday, but Maclin reportedly plans to reunite with Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. It's an interesting move, as Maclin offers a versatile skill set that makes him valuable in both the short and deep passing games, with the former more likely to be the focus in Kansas City. While Alex Smith may lack the arm strength to take advantage of Maclin's wheels, there should be plenty of targets available in the KC offense. The Chiefs got minimal production from their wide receivers last season, and Dwayne Bowe is a strong candidate to be released. The team likely envisions an offense based around Jamaal Charles, Maclin and Travis Kelce.

going to play for the coach that drafted him. good move. cant say the same for the eagles as they gut their team in favor of old players.

I'm stunned with the goings on at the Eagles.

the coach must think its all him that wins games and not the players.

I've been cool with every move Chip has made up till this. I really don't get this one. He is starting to look more like a defensive minded coach. I agree with you Gibbs. He must really think it's all about his offensive system and not the players. I pray he's right!

Bad move for Maclin, worse move for Chip. Maclin will face double coverage all season and see a drop in production. Chip will realize his marginal improvement to his defense won't carry his disaster of an offense.

with Charles out of the backfield, that extra coverage will be preoccupied. much like Shady and Maclin (Cooper was never much of a threat). Plus KC likes to get the TE's into the mix way more than Philly did the last two years. Maclins numbers will prob go down but he is much better than Bowe at getting open so it shouldn't be all that bad.

Projected starters for the Eagles include Cooper, 30-something Gore and possibly Sanchez..... WOW. good thing they scored a LB coming off of injury.

Exactly gibbs, we all know of Alonso's explosive talent but as you state... He has already missed a year.

The way I look at it is that perhaps Chip is looking at our poor red zone play, with the high octane offense it is imperative to put seven on the board, too many times last year we left points on the field, only for the opposition to beat on an exhausted defensive unit.
